Audience needed monitoring/music weak.
by LadyAshford17 on 10/26/17Aventura Arts & Cultural Center - AventuraI believe the concert would have benefited from the audience being monitored because their were numerous interruptions of kids talking & people getting up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the performance. I think the crowd might have been restless because the music selection while being technically challenging lacked an emotional connection to the audience. Perhaps starting with a more familiar & engaging piano piece would have engaged the audience. It almost appeared as if the pianist got frustrated & discouraged & was not into the performance. By the time the lovely piece after intermission was played it appeared the pianist's heart was not into the performance. Although, she was gracious in playing some lovely encore pieces she didn't come across as truly happy with her experience. I think it's a fine balance between demonstrating technical expertise & being able to take the audience into an emotional journey where the music transports them into an universal connection of unimaginable joy!!
