My daughter and I went to see "Wishful Drinking". She went to see a grown-up Princess Leia, and I went to see Debbie Reynolds' daughter. I had read the book so was familiar with the content of the show, but her presentation and interaction with the show made the book come to life. She makes mental illness understandable with an insider's point of view. We both laughed out loud and thoroughly enjoyed the show. I would and have recommended it for a light, fun, enjoyable evening.
Carrie Fisher has found a way to share her life story, struggles and hopes in a humorous fun filled couple of hours. One feels as if they are sharing stories with a friend. I highly recommend this event.
Carrie Fisher's mic was pitiful. It sounded like a transistor radio from the 50s. Very unprofessional on the part of the sound crew. I missed a lot of the dialogue.
Carrie was open and sometimes brutally honest when talking about her life and growing up Hollywood. Not pretentious or snobby, which she could be considering she grew up in an atmosphere of privilege. LA is not kind to those not part of the IN crowd and she seems to have escaped that "I am more wonderful than you because of my parents, my life in show biz, etc" She is warm, funny and someone you feel you gould get to know and like. I have enjoyed her books and am glad she has taken her life on the road to share with those that are not great readers. Good show, good person. I really enjoyed it all.
It was a great way to spend a couple of hours. Wonderful insights; lots of courage to let it all hang out.
I don't think I have ever laughed so much as I did at this show. Carrie Fisher was just great. Being the age of her mother, I could remember most of what she was talking about. Great show.
We were liooking forward to this and came away disappointed. Great material, but not put together or presented well. The blackboard of her family tree was very hard to follow, should have been fun and could have been used throught the show. Some of the stuff used was just not funny or pertaining to the show.
Carrie Fisher is too funny! Only problem was the sound, not loud enough for where we were sitting, I think some of my older friends didn't catch all of it. I would go see her any day of the week, would love to have her as a friend.
Very funny show, appropriate for older audiences. Her delivery was excellent and the show was very entertaining!
