The Trash Can Sinatras Tickets

I have been the biggest Trashcan Sinatras fan since the early 90's. Grunge rock is what totally killed their momentum...there's just no accounting for the general public's taste. TCS rarely makes it to the US, so I was totally psyched when I found out they were touring on a chance look-see on their webpage. They skipped Detroit for some unknown reason, but Cleveland is a mere 3 hour roadtrip away...so off we went. First off, Cleveland was awesome and the people were the friendliest I'd ever met! We checked into the coolest historical hotel, The Glidden House had dinner in at La Dolce Vita (Hi Gordon!) then off the the show. The show was at a cool venue called the Grog Shop in a hipster area. The Trashcan Sinatras were absolutely the most magical show I'd ever heard in my life!! I have all of their cd's so wasn't sure what to expect live. Wow!!! The room was filled with the coolest people (Hi Kate Theresa and Matt) and the sound at the Grog was spectacular! I felt like the luckiest person in the world to have been able to see my favorite band for 10 bucks in this very cool low-brow venue (I mean that as a HUGE compliment). Hayfever and Weightlifting are songs the angels play over and over in heaven! We were passing Frank Reader notes about coming to Detroit...but he ignored our drunken silliness and intensely pressed on with the music. Can u believe I got that close to Frank Reader???!!! He must be absolutely full of love to come up with such amazing lyrics and beautiful melodies. Very bright guitar band. If you like the Smiths, you'll love the Trashcan Sinatras! Go get your tix!!! Paul and I left the show with stars in our eyes and a pocketful of e-mails and phone numbers from our new friends in Cleveland. Can't wait to see them again...maybe someday in Scotland!

Both bands were fantastic. The venue was intimate, and the members of Brookville were very approachable and friendly. I wish the Trashcan Sinatras wouldve played some of their older songs, but it was overall a great show
