THE ROYAL CONCEPT IN CONCERT:
Swedish indie rockers The Royal Concept have been kings of sunny pop perfection since they first got fans dancing with their 2010 debut single "Damn", and they’re holding tightly to their reign. At their live shows the band keeps the energy and good vibes high, turning out their upbeat mix of indie rock and dance pop with an infectious enthusiasm that makes audiences go wild. Sing-along-worthy tracks like "On Our Way" get ticket buyers shouting and clapping their hands, but by the time the band launches into fan favorite "D-D-Dance" the crowd is too busy to do anything but dance. The Royal Concept’s anthemic tunes and vibrant onstage energy make for a royally good time whenever and wherever they perform their feel-good indie tunes.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
The Royal Concept formed in Stockholm in 2010 and hit the ground running with their catchy debut single "Damn". The band's amped-up live shows made them a staple in the Swedish live music scene, and before long they were playing high-profile gigs like the 2011 Peace & Love Festival. In 2012 they signed to Lava Records and released a self-titled debut EP, which they supported on a US tour with The Wombats and Wolf Gang. Upon returning to Sweden they released their 2013 debut album Goldrushed, a critically acclaimed collection of sleek, danceable indie pop that led to extensive touring. The album got a Japanese release in 2014, and the band's electrifying shows in Tokyo and beyond helped cement their growing Japanese fanbase. With their 2015 EP Smile still fresh in fans' minds, The Royal Concept continue to incite high-energy dance parties every time they take the stage.
