    Perfection

by Hill218 on 10/4/17Boston Opera House - Boston

Amazing. Outstanding. Breathtaking. Those are just a few words to describe the show. I was left speechless. The performance, the actors and the set were unbelievably beautiful. I can’t wait for this show to come back around again.

    Phantom was lackluster

by Coppertop82 on 10/4/17Boston Opera House - Boston

I've seen phantom a number of times. This was my daughter's first time. (She's 16) We were very disappointed. ALW wrote a near perfect show. All the production company needed to do was cast the Show and go with it. The co-star of the show (the chandelier) barely existed. Didn't crash to the stage. The big labyrinth number was dull. The pace of the show was very slow. I actually apologized to my daughter during intermission. On the up side the talent was amazing and the set designer is a genius.

    Fantastic performance

by Anonymous on 10/4/17Boston Opera House - Boston

Fantastic performance of Phantom of the Opera in Boston's Opera House Theatre. Went for our 5th wedding anniversary. We had center orchestra seats with a great view (J row). A bit pricey but worth it!!

take it or leave it, could not understand

by Jumbojoe86 on 10/3/17Boston Opera House - Boston

I did not enjoy it as much as it was touted. Thought it was boring and tough to follow the story line. There was no development of the characters in order to understand what was going on, maybe I should of saw the movie prior to going. BLAH

    Phantom of the Opera

by Camplou on 10/3/17Boston Opera House - Boston

Outstanding singing by most of cast. I did not think Raoul was really having a great day. Costumes, sets, staging, lighting etc could not have been better.

15 minutes into play they had to stop, because they had technical difficulties. The lead role was out, so they used a stand-by cast member. The ending was different from the movie. Plus, the play seemed to be abbreviated from the movie.

    Nice Venue

by LillianL on 10/2/17Boston Opera House - Boston

Boston Opera House seems particularly fitting for Phantom of the Opera, with its lavish decorations and chandeliers. The tour version of Phantom of the Opera has a smaller stage set compare to the original Broadway version. There was an actual technical difficulty at the scene when the "Opera Ghost" made some "technical difficulty" in the musical, which is pretty neat in a sense. Anyways, it's pretty good overall.

    Great night with great music

by Polly27 on 10/2/17Boston Opera House - Boston

I love the Phantom of the Opera and have seen it before in NY. So I was a little sceptic whether they would be able to do the same spectacular show on tour and they did! Loved it. Definitely worth seeing.

Wonderful Experience - Venue, Production & People

by RWMKEM on 10/2/17Boston Opera House - Boston

We waited a few years for a production of Phantom so that we could bring our granddaughter to the theatre. We cannot say enough about the Boston Opera House - the building is a wonderful reminder of a grand age and its staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly. (For instance, being invited off the sidewalk and into the foyer early to get you out of extreme heat / humidity.) This version of Phantom had some interesting aspects - some of which were more 'Phantom lite' while still remaining true to the original story. One of the stars of this version was the main set which revolved and configured itself - transformer-like - into so many places used in the story. The voices in this production were all superb and and their owners captivated us with their passion. It does, though, amaze me how still the entire theatre becomes in those last few minutes of the play with only occasional sobs to be heard. Lastly, I wish to say Thank you specifically to Ticketmaster for helping and allowing us to 'trade up' on such short notice to better seating. We ended up in the front center of the dress circle for a modest difference in ticket price. Having the chandelier dance just feet in front of us made the entire evening! Bottom Line - my granddaughter can't wait to go again. We could not be happier.

    Simply Fantastic

by Rose554432 on 9/30/17Boston Opera House - Boston

I have wanted to see this show for years and was so excited that I finally got the chance to see it. The venue was absolutely beautiful, and everyone was very kind and helpful. The show itself though was spectacular. The set and technical aspects exceeded all of my expectations, as did the acting. I got so emotional watching it that I cried when the show began and as it ended. Such a special moment for me, and I would hands down recommend this show to all of my friends.
