The Jax Blues Festival was great!

by Latishababygirl on 2/21/13Times Union Ctr Perf Arts Moran Theater - Jacksonville

We really enjoyed the entire event! Mel Waiters stole the show! He took us to Church and then rocked us at the Hole in the Wall! Millie Jackson was good, but didn't really show too much of her fiestier side as much as she used to back in the day. All in all, we look forward to seeing what's in store for next year!

    The Jacksonville Blues Festival

by Shakeem on 2/20/13Times Union Ctr Perf Arts Moran Theater - Jacksonville

the price was to much for what was given. the best show was Mel Waiter. The other artist wasn't up to par. I have seen them perform so much better.

Latimore, Waiters were good. MJ was satisfactory. The MC was funny and good. The rest should be recycled for improvement. I expect better value for the investment.

My wife and I thought we were going to have an enjoyable night of Jazz at the Times Union (since I play a sax). Well, after the first performance, Mr. Edward Jones the MC started flaunting about politics, racism, promiscuity and immoral behavior which truly had nothing to do with Jazz. It upset us so much that we left during the second performer and we would like to have refund.

    very disappointed

by WILOBERT on 2/19/13Times Union Ctr Perf Arts Moran Theater - Jacksonville

Everyone on the program was average. Nothing to write home to Mama about. I was really let down by the performace of Milie Jackson. She did nothing to excite the crowd, Needless to say it was sad to see such a star disappoint so many fans. Billy Lattimore really should have headlined the Blues Festival .

    Lattimore stole the show

by Bigpapadoug on 2/19/13Times Union Ctr Perf Arts Moran Theater - Jacksonville

Was a overall great show. There was quick turaround times between acts and great comedy as we waited. I think Lattimore was the best even though he went first. My biggest dissapoinment was MillieJackson only sang her new songs and none of her old stuff. Also wondered why some acts sang other people's material when they had plenty of there own to sing. But overall was a good show with no drama and a good old school crowd who had a good time.
