    Fun but mediocre.

by ChaelSonnenRules on 1/17/17The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

Usually for general admission concerts, audience members compete to get close to the stage. But for a cover band like this, people hang out in the middle of the floor, so there's no need to get there early to get a good spot. The show was supposed to start at 8pm, but for the first hour it was just a DJ playing 90s songs. It came to the point where people were asking whether an actual band was coming on stage. Eventually a band did come on stage, comprising three males and a female singer. I noticed, based on pictures, that the female singer changes from show to show, while the male band members stay the same. Our female singer was very good. They played a setlist that included an Alanis Morissette song, but it should've included bigger party songs. Then there was a long intermission where that DJ came back on. I left during this intermission. They said they would play audience requested songs when they came back, but there was no point in staying. A cover band like this shouldn't come on stage an hour late then have a long intermission, because audience members will leave.

I'd rather just listen to the originals at home

    by DasBoot8 on 8/20/15The National - Richmond

What a joke! Had to put up with more than an hour of a DJ playing a mix of "only 90s tunes" (except for the ones he played that were from the 70s or 80s or 2000s) while the band "prepared". Not sure what they had to prepare for, considering they don't even play the instruments on many of the songs they claim to be playing. None of the guys can sing. The only redeeming quality was the woman, who could actually sing but only sang on three of the songs. Then they had to take a break in the middle of the show, and the DJ came back out to run through more of his over-mixed set. I left before they came back out for the second act. Waste of money.

The band was awful. I found myself and my friends enjoying the D.J. more.

Awesome! Only complaint was that the DJ during half time didn't only play 90's music.

Would not recommend this show. Wish I had done more research about the band and listened to their setlist, etc. NOT impressed in the least!

The show was enjoyable overall. The band is definitely a cover band, but that didn't matter with everyone singing along. Great setlist; wish more songs were played.
