    Such an amazing show.

Take it from someone who had the privilege of seeing Stevie Ray in concert and in clubs back in the 80s, Tommy Katona is like SRV came back to life.

A great tribute to SRV. Entertaining show. They did some Zepplin, also great. Great showmanship. Wish the set up would have been better and better organized. But the band itself-Fantastic!

    Tommy Katona and Texas Flood

by svcbearcat72 on 4/14/15Berks Jazz Fest - Reading

Tommy Katona and Texas Flood first performed at the Berks Jazz Fest last year. To say they were back by popular demand would be an understatement. While Bldg 24 in Wyomissing is not a large venue (650 - 750 max), it was packed to capacity with enthusiastic blues fans drinking in every note of the hard driving Texas Hill country blues served up by Texas Flood. They are billed as a Stevie Ray Vaughn tribute band, and they certainly do justice to the music of the incomparable SRV, however, they are much more than that. Never have I seen so much fantastic music come out of a trio of musicians than I did last night. All of SRV's hits were performed masterfully as well as homage paid to Stevie Wonder, Muddy Waters, BB King, Eric Clapton and (wait for it), Jimmy Paige and Led Zepplin. The Stevie Wonder tribute, Superstition, included a tour by Tommy and Steve Buckner through the entire audience and lasted at least 15 minutes. If you have the opportunity to see them, I encourage you to do so, you will not be disappointed. I have no doubt the 2016 Berks Jazz Fest will welcome Texas Flood back by popular demand.

We saw this band last year at the same venue. We thought they were awesome. This year we were disappointed. They were not as good as last year, Huge disappointment!! Also, Building 24 was not set up for the crowd. They knew it was a sold out show, but they did not have near enough seats set up. What a fiasco. Will not return!!
