About

“Sullivan & Son” is TBS’s hit half-hour comedy series with all new episodes premiering in June. The first season garnered a large fan base, averaging over 2.5 million viewers per episode. The show is based on Steve Sullivan (Steve Byrne) leaving behind his life in New York as a successful corporate attorney to take over the family bar in a working-class Pittsburgh neighborhood. The barstools are filled with Steve’s best friends Owen (Owen Benjamin), Roy (Roy Wood Jr.), and Ahmed (Ahmed Ahmed). Diane Werts of Newsday raved “Surprise! A laugh-out-loud hilarious show.”

    Sullivan and Son Tour

by SullivanandSonFan on 8/20/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Had a great time at The Sullivan & Son Tour. All 4 did their own stand up session, then they got together for improv that included audience members. I hope they return to Boston in 2015. A great venue and a great show.

Owen Benjamin and Roy Wood, Jr. - go see them!!

by shellbird on 8/19/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

4 comedians with individual sets then come together at the end... Owen and Roy were absolutely hilarious! Their sets were funny and creative and Owen stole the show with his piano playing and songs. Owen is amazing - his energy is positive and he can play off the audience and the other 3 comedians very well. Ahmed was ok - maybe he was having an off night - his set wasn't very funny and was pretty rough in delivery. When the 4 of them came together at the end, he barely said anything. Steve seemed out of sorts as well - he was only on stage alone for like 10 min before he called the other 3 out there. He complained that the theater wasn't sold out and that he couldn't afford to stay in Boston and had to stay in Somerville (what's wrong with Somerville?) Then, when Owen and Roy started to improvise, it was clear that Steve couldn't handle it. I would definitely go to see Owen again, mostly likely Roy too, but I wouldn't pay to see Ahmed or Steve and I wouldn't go to see this tour of the 4 of them together again. Their energy on stage together didn't "click".

Was a great night out with the wife. The guys were funny and the venue made it so there wasn't a bad seatin the house.

    great show, local charm

by BillD79 on 8/11/13Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia

The comics really played to their captive, albeit small audience at the TLA in Philadelphia. At one point, Steve mentioned the headcount at 63 (not far off). Some tech issues with sound cues, and some repeated jokes (any black people in the audience?), would have been cleaner with rehearsal and coordination between the performers and crew. The rather intimate setting was a pleasant surprise, given the fact that the next day's show in Pittsburgh sold 1200 tickets. A great send up to the show, which was the purpose of the comedy tour.

    sullivan & son comedy show.

by damieana on 8/11/13Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia

Ahmed Ahmed was the funniest. Roy wood Jr was funny and Owen Benjamin started weak but ended really strong. The main act was Steve Byrne. His joke were high school level. Crude and not that funny. He had some technical problems and got frustrated. He didn't even come back down for the meet and greet. I don't think they will come back to Philly anytime soon.
