River Riot 2017
by paps111 on 11/27/17Westfair Amphitheater - Council BluffsTwo thumbs up! I throughly enjoyed the music lineup this year. It was my first time watching The Pretty Reckless. Taylor Momsen carried an ominous presence when she stepped up to the mic and the whole crowd played on the moment. It was fascinating to experience. Pierce the Veil killed it on stage. Vic Fuentes always has the crowd's attention when he opens up his vocal chords. (I will be a PTV fan for life.) The real game-changer here was the headliner: Soundgarden. I'm honored to have watched one of their last performances as a band. (Chris Cornell committed suicide only days after playing this event.) "Black Hole Sun," the melodic song everyone remembers being chanted in unison from the crowd, survivors that had stayed all day in the heat to see the legendary band. Regarding the venue itself, kudos. I was even impressed with the light show. The place is huge! Great for a music festival as it can hold over 2,000 people. The lines pedaled through at a decent pace and ATMs were easy to find. The food was a little over-priced but that comes with the territory. Overall, I would give 5 stars because it never disappoints. Please continue to host River Riot!
