    Good Times...never sang "Good Times"...what?

    by MarkNYC64 on 7/29/14Signature Theatre - Arlington

This was a fun little show of TV themes through the years. The two performers were fantastic and full of energy and it made for a fun night. TV themes, as a genre, can be challenging because they can get tedious esp. when they start singing themes beyond your generation -- Rugrats? Hey Arnold? -- and I saw a lot of the older patrons around me zone out. Personally I could've used more 70s sitcom themes, when the genre was at its peak: Good Times, Maude, Chico and the Man, etc. Also, it would've been cool to hear more TV themes that have lyrics that most folks don't know about: Hawaii 5-0, Kojak, the Andy Griffith Show. But now I'm just nitpicking...

The few missed notes and strains were more than made up for by the excellent program and delightful, funny and often poignant patter. Wonderful evening!

    Tom Goss...unique, bouyant, sexy, personal.

    by bodworker1aolcom on 7/13/14Signature Theatre - Arlington

Tom welcomed us into an intimate evening filled with his song. It felt as if we were listening to his band in his living room. Quirky humor coupled with lyrics that cut to the bone of relationship carried us into his heart. Having followed his music for several years, it was a real treat to meat "the man and his band behind his music. And to encounter a gay man who has values concerning his partner....refreshing!!
