It was fun to see some of my favorite cartoons from childhood & have my kids enjoy it too. Only an hr, so it was a good length for kids.

    The Schoolhouse That Rocked

by RoscoeJoe on 8/9/16Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

A very well-paced, fun and engaging show that kept the young ones enterained and fed the parents' sense of nostalgia. The cast had lots of energy. The theater company did a good job of adding modern twists to an older concept without compromising the content or the experience.

There were so many songs and not very much story. Not all the actors enunciated, so it was hard for the kids to understand. The recommended age was 3-13, but I think it is 10+ to understand the songs, concepts and what is going on.

A fast paced show best for older kids.

by GoGreen9597 on 7/24/16Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Schoolhouse Rock was great, but it was a little loud and constantly filled with vocabulary and storylines that run together in a fast paced dialogue or singing. The actors were awesome and really working hard, you could tell. I would definitely recommend not sitting in the first 5 rows (we were in the front row) because it's a little close and you might be looking up a lot. Best seats are at least 10 rows back. The actors come into the aisles, so maybe in the aisle? I brought my 8, 6, and 4 year olds. They all loved it but it probably was most understood by my 8 year old. It was a little hard to follow along for me (microphone/speaker system seemed to be geared for over our heads) but it didn't seem to affect my kids' enjoyment. Worth going! Actors come our afterwards and sign autographs too. Very nice!
