Nezet-Seguin excells!
by composer99 on 2/15/15Valley Performing Arts Center - NorthridgeThe conductor, who I am told has the nick-name "Mighty Mouse" , is a bundle of raw energy. Though small in stature he is a giant of a musician. His often large gestures give an incredible sweep to the string section. His baton-less hands nevertheless trigger precision attacks from the winds and brass. No wonder that he is in his third season at the helm of the Philadelphia Orchestra in addition to his years with the Rotterdam Philharmonic. In addition to their star conductor, the players in this orchestra are also of a very high quality.
