by classicalroller on 3/26/12Mayo Civic Center Presentation Hall - RochesterThe Rochester Symphony Orchestra delivered a tight and energetic performance on Saturday night with their "We'll Always Have Paris" concert. The enthusiasm of Jere Lanz is always a joy to watch, and we also enjoyed the faces of the musicians, who seemed to be having a good time themselves. Great program, fabulous concert, and fascinating program notes! I always feel smarter and more energized after attending one of these performances.

by abigbigFan on 2/20/12Mayo Civic Center Presentation Hall - RochesterIt was such a treat to see local musicians and composers featured - Sebastian Modarelli's orchestral piece was surprising and beautiful, Hudson Lanier's guitar playing was sweet and powerful, and the Symphony and Chorale's presentation of Bolero was so much fun! All around it was a great show. The depth of talent in Rochester is amazing! Please do this again.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Excellant program well performed.
by Patty73 on 2/20/12Mayo Civic Center Presentation Hall - RochesterThe program contained several familiar Latin pieces with the exception of Sebastian Moderelli's composition "Born in Buenos Aires" which was exciting. The centerpiece of the evening was Rodrigo's "Concerto de Aranjuez" a guitar concerto played by Hudson Lanier, This was his first performance with a symphony orchestras and he is truly a fine guitarist, probably world class. The question people in my area had.was whether more amplification would not have been better A very enjoyable evening with lots of exciting music.

by Wyolincoln on 12/8/09Christ United Methodist Church - RochesterWe attended the Saturday evening performance of Handel's Messiah and to say the least, we were very impressed. This was the first time we had experienced the entire work and hearing it in its entirety was a treat. The energy and enthusiasm displayed by everyone involved in the performance was felt by those in attendance. The conductor was amazing. His obvious joy and passion for this work was contagious. I doubt that anyone who understood what this performance was really about could not help but be moved.
