    What happened to the clowns?

    by 101tj on 9/10/14Moda Center - Portland

It was okay, I think that Barnum & Bailey's is trying to keep up with the times... Not so sure it working for them.... but we really missed seeing some clowns Mr. Boring wasn't the same as a good ole fashion clown show. But it is what it is... you get what you get and you don't through a fit.

    Not the circus I remember...

by Changes on 9/10/14Moda Center - Portland

It was still worth the reasonable ticket cost, but certainly not the Barnum spectacle I remember as a child. There were no tigers are large cats at all despite their being characters of them all over the publications. There were no trapeze, only 2 elephants and only 3 clowns. It was fun to watch, and the artisans were still very talented, but a pale comparison to their history.

    My daughter loved it

    by S8Nhere on 9/10/14Moda Center - Portland

It was a great show. The pre-show was great also. I would recommend it to anyone.

The Circus has lost it's sparkle

by Kryssiroo on 9/10/14Moda Center - Portland

Full disclosure, I am 25 years old and have no children and yet I wanted to go to the circus. lol It was not the grand spectacle I remember from childhood. They had closed off half of the arena area, so it was small in scale. The animals looked sad and tired. A doggie fell off of a horse during a trick and it sort of ruined it for me. I will say the acrobatics were really great. They should let the animals go live life in a cozy zoo somewhere and stick to the cool aerial artists and gymnastics.

Very entertaining show! Loved the strength acts and the motorcycle act. A little annoyed by the animal activists, but that is what makes America great!

    Circus or petting zoo?

by CHALKMOM on 9/10/14Moda Center - Portland

Definitely not your childhood circus. Its no longer a 3 ring circus, its 1. Only dogs, mini horses and 2 elephants at this circus. Yes there were tight rope walkers and the motorcycle globe of death, but the rest was kinda disappointing. Too much dancing/singing and too much focus on the clowns (only 3). Oh, I miss the good old days.

    Wonderful!

by OregonCoastMom on 9/10/14Moda Center - Portland

Fantastic circus from start to finish. The cast really went the extra mile to make sure the kids were having a fantastic time, and the pre-show was great. LOVE this circus!

    Circus always entertaining!

by Ladyatfals on 9/10/14Moda Center - Portland

We took our granddaughter for her 3rd birthday. She loved it. Lots to see and enjoy. My only concern is the high cost of everything.

    Cool for little ones

by RitaPDX on 9/10/14Moda Center - Portland

Bottom line, try to get a discount, lots of empty seats. My little one loved it, I thought it was ok, nothing spectacular, but not bad either. Of course, the junk food was not interesting, I wish they had some decent options. The gift store is crazy expensive which is expected, so stay clear of that!

Not enough animals- too much dancing. No tiger or gorilla like on billboards and picture backdrops. False advertising

A good circus but repeat acts & expensive swag

by Anonymous on 9/10/14Moda Center - Portland

We went to this circus with our kids 2/5 2 years ago and they loved it. The before the show time was loved. Now 4/6 we went back. The before the circus was still fun. But honestly for as empty as it was the tickets were way overpriced. Much of the same exact show was from 2 years ago, but there were enough fun acts to make it exciting for the kids. As always the kids loved the clowns the most. It seemed shorter this time around, fewer acts and each one seemed shorter. Also while I expect the toys and stuff to be expensive the light up wand was 22 dollars, I mean come on! Anyway moda center was fine as always. Kids enjoyed it. I don't think I would go back again for a while if ever. If you have little kids and they've never gone, then it would still be worth it.

    circus

by Anonymous on 9/10/14Moda Center - Portland

This was a great disappointment. The show has shrunk so much from whant I remember..It was depressing. the actors tried very hard but the preformanceces were spotty.

    Okay...circus has lost its luster

by travelgirlconey on 9/9/14Moda Center - Portland

When I was a child, the circus was a grand event...three ring circus literally. Now, gone are ladies riding the back of horses, no trapeeze, no lions or tigers or bears. Just a couple sad looking elephants and a bunch of cirque du soleil wantabees. Instead of wanting to look like something else, this circus needs to reinvent itself very soon or it will be over!

    I expected MORE

by srena200 on 9/8/14Baton Rouge River Center Arena - Baton Rouge

I have loved Ringling Bros. since I was a kid but I recall the shows as large arenas with spectacular acts, more animals, and clowns. This was not really that. It was enjoyable but seemed to be an abbreviated version of what Ringling Bros. once was.

    The Circus

    by 942014 on 9/8/14Moda Center - Portland

My first real circus ever.......at age 70! Guess I should have gone when I was 7 because this item on my "bucket list" was a huge "let down"!!! No lions, tigers, bears, trapeze acts or clowns. Intermission was far too long - I felt sorry for all the parents of young children that struggled to keep them entertained while waiting for the show to begin again. The acrobatic performers were very good and the dancers did a commendable job also. Also thought the music was enjoyable. Overall, not at all an event that satisfied my expectations.

    The Best Show On Earth

by Annoyedbynicknames on 9/8/14Moda Center - Portland

Those dogs riding horses put our masteries to shame :) The muscles on the performers are great examples of what we could do if we chose to. I am thoroughly impressed by the self discipline the performers have. Mr. Boredom brought his recliner and so can you :)) A demonstration took place outside against animal cruelty and mistreated elephants, but that Asian elephant was treated better than that Lhasa Apso in your bed. This had less animal tricks than one might be used to, but the performances were outstanding.

    Good show

by storminwife on 9/8/14Moda Center - Portland

The super circus hero theme this year was really cute. My grandkids (3&6) really liked the acts. We also had front row seats so they had a close up view of all the animals. The show flowed well. The kids didn't seem to fidget or get bored for the whole 2 hours. The performers were top notch and the acts were amazing. We all fought over which was the best act all the way home. ;)
