Quenedit Dance Theatre: the Nutcracker Tickets

Bought three tickets at full price for the Nov 27, 2022 Quenedit Nutcracker performance at the Lila Cockrell Theatre. Enjoyed the first half of the performance, however, as the first half ended and intermission started the power went out in the theatre. Maintenance personnel were not able to fix the problem, therefore, the second half of the Nutcracker could not be performed. After waiting in the theatre for approximately one hour, the maintenance personnel advised that they could not resolve the electrical problem and instructed the entire audience to leave, and did not offer any compensation or refund information for failure to complete Nutcracker performance which we all paid for. The Lila Cockrell owes people who purchased tickets a refund for not providing the complete performance that was paid for--we didn't pay for "half" a Nutcracker show! Disappointed! San Antonio can do better!

The first half was very good. Dancing was superb, the costumes were awesome and the background staging was well done. The second half we did not get to see since the power blew in the theatre. What a bummer.

It was such a sad experience for all dancers, family, and friends that attended the 2:00 showing on Sunday 11/27 because in the middle of the intermission, the facility experienced a power outage that had all of us waiting about 30-40 minutes only to be told that they were not able to correct. We were not able to finish the show and the second act was not able to perform. I feel so bad for all the performers.

The performance was cancel for problems of the theater.. electric problems!!

I thought this was an excellent production of the Nutcracker. The dancing, costumes, lighting and sets were great. I also liked how the director inserted gymnasts for one of the numbers. The few slip-ups were endearing, and when two dancers (male and female) slipped on the floor and fell, the audience gave them a loud round of applause for not giving up and finishing the number. Overall, it was a very good show and I thought the dancers did a great job (kudos to the choreographer).

The nutcracker ballet was beautiful. From the costumes to the backgrounds. Such amazing choreography as well. I was very impressed and would definitely see it again.

Excellent choreography with many talented dancers and also children performing exceptionally well. Music was super great. Only fault I felt was the introduction of the mouse king and army. It appeared in disarray and confusing. The boys playing with the swords was not very appealing and seemed excessive. The ballerina dancers were the best ever. Overall beautiful show with great background props. Thank you.

First of all the lobby was not decorated with life-size nutcrackers or mice like I have experienced in other cities. Nothing available that you could take a picture with that said you saw the Nutcracker . There were no snacks or beverages available. The performing theater , Quenedit, was a intermediate level and that is my fault I should have done my research. I expected a professional level with mainly adults performing. But Quenedit is inspiring, growing in potential and servicing our community and children.

Always a great show and so much fun to watch. The costumes are set are so much fun.
