Porktoberfest BBQFest Tickets

I was extremely disappointed. We prebought tickets for Saturday which showed hours from 12:00 to 8:00. We arrived just before 3:30 and were told they weren't checking tickets. (So, why did I purchase them) We go in and there is NO food left. They advertised being there for another four and a half hours yet there was ZERO food left. I understand some venders running out of food early but all of them.....poor planning!

Poor choices for food trucks Friday evening. Excessively long waits for a hamburger so we ended up having cake for dinner. Bars were equally as slow considering the size of the crowd. We had tix for Saturday but didn't go..

I purchased tickets in advance for this event which was advertised to run 12-6 on Saturday, however, when my family and I arrived at 2:30, it was pretty much over. They weren't even taking tickets anymore at the gate and the food samples (the two that were left) were cold and gross. I think I will pass next year on this event. The one good thing was I wrote a note to the contact on the gardens website and the lady responded to me right away - apologized and offered me some free tickets to the gardens. Now that's customer service!

Friday night was a bust. There were only two food trucks with a very long lines. We expected to have food readily available. We arrived at about 6:30 and left at 8:00 or so, maybe it got better. We saw some of the first act. There were technical problems at first with the mike's but that was cleared within a few minutes. We would have stayed if there was sufficient food but had to leave for dinner. I hope Saturday was better.

An absolute disaster. People were asking for ticket refunds because of 1 hour plus wait for food (only 2 food trucks plus a dessert food truck) and another long wait for wine, etc. Advertising was misleading. Everyone I talked to expected to be able to buy BBQ. There was no BBQ. First performer was Trent Harmon who I was told when I called to inquire would perform at 7:00 so we planned our arrival accordingly. He actually came on stage at 7:30 and then did a sound check, with a number of required fixes even after he sang a song or two. There was a constant video loop on stage of sponsors before the entertainment. However, just before the entertainment, there was someone who came on stage to announce the entire list of sponsors that we had been looking at for quite awhile already. Total waste of time. Don't know how Saturday went, but Friday night experience was awful. Will never go again.

This event was very unprepared. They only had three food trucks. One of them only served dessert (cupcakes), one of them had two food options, and the last one had tons of food options. We waited in line for 2 and a half hours to get food! When we got to the front of the line, they were out of burgers and fries. The bottled water was hot, not just room temperature, but hot. The beer lines were almost just as bad. We ordered a beer and after 5 minutes, the man came back and asked if we wanted something else because he couldn't find the beer we wanted. They weren't out of it. He just couldn't find it. The music was ok, but also seemed a bit unprepared. The weather was wonderful and the lawn seats were great!

The concert itself was very good. We enjoyed all three acts very much. However whoever did the logistics did not do there job. The title of the event Porktoberfest would sure lead you to believe there would be food and drink. However with only three 'food trucks', lines were very very long and then extreme waits to get food. Wait times for the few beer/wine trucks were likewise long. If you went, hope you ate before you got there.

Really cool venue, Good Food, cold beer. Perfect for Football watching or strolling through the Gardens.
