Pan Am Basketball Tickets

I saw two women's basketball games, the US team beat Brazil on Thursday and also saw Argentina play Venezuela on Saturday. I am thankful I saw some basketball at the Pan-Am Games, also saw some baseball and boxing. This venue was much closer than the other two, which were out of town. I liked how this arena was just blocks where I was staying, at a dormitory at Ryerson University. Great to see the archival photos on the wall of the various events held there over the years, besides Maple Leafs hockey also concerts and political and religious rallies like Pierre Trudeau and Billy Graham. It did remind me of my first visit to Canada, Montreal in 2002, where I not only saw 2 Expos baseball games but also found the Montreal Forum hockey arena, now renovated into a mall. This venue of course was Maple Leaf Gardens, pleased that this name is still on the building facade.

The basketball games were great, even though I didn't get to see Canada play the teams we did see were awesome. There was so much joy, pride and celebration in the stands, it brought the whole games to life. There was also a lot of interaction during half time which was fun. Overall, I had a great time and I would love to experience it again.

What an awesome B-ball game by the Cdn Women's team, beating the heavily favoured US squad. Made a lot of us fans and true believers of our women! Feel sorry for anyone who was not there as CBC didn't air the game. What a pathetic decision by CBC.
