Both Groove For Thought and On the Rocks came ready to give us their best at the Aladdin Theater. Groove for Thought opened with humor and polyphonic harmonies, continuing to wow the audience with their vocal intricacies and moving performances. A great moment was their latin spin on Earth, Wind, and Fire's Shining Star. They set the bar high for the boys from the University of Oregon. The guys came out with guns blazing! Lots of energy, some great choreography, and dynamic vocal percussion were just the beginning. Their set really showcased their strengths and the heart of the group-excellent solos, tight harmonies, moving arrangements, and of course, lots of humor! On the Rocks showed that despite their youth they can perform with the same musicality and professionalism as a jazz group that has been performing together for a decade.
