About

NINE DAYS IN CONCERT:

For the past two decades, alt rock outfit Nine Days has been cranking out catchy-as-heck tunes that embody the best of the post-grunge '00s. The band’s buoyant songs are chock-full of chunky guitar riffs, breezy harmonies, and heartfelt lyrics. In concert Nine Days brims with infectious energy, bopping around to favorites like “Absolutely (Story of a Girl)" while fans sing along full-blast. Whether they’re playing selections from their early independent days or revisiting cuts from their 2000 major label debut The Madding Crowd, Nine Days always bring plenty of upbeat pop rock energy to the stage at their feel-good live shows.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Nine Days was formed on Long Island, NY in 1994 by vocalist John Hampson and guitarist Brian Desveaux. The band released three independent albums in the mid-‘90s on their own imprint Dirty Poet Records, and in 2000 they made their major label debut on Sony with The Madding Crowd. The record was a breakout success, going gold thanks to the Top 10 single “Absolutely (Story of a Girl)”. The band’s 2002 follow-up album So Happily Unsatisfied was never actually released due to complications with Sony, and in 2003 they resumed self-releasing music on Dirty Poet Records with the album Flying the Corporate Jet. Since then the band has continued to record and tour sporadically, thrilling fans every time they hit the road to perform their nostalgic brand of earnest ‘90s alt rock.

Count to Ten was Amazing. faith in music restored

by zaigeo on 9/25/14The Paramount - Huntington

Came to see Nine days but was blown away by Count to Ten. Such a young band with original tunes. Maybe there are some writers left in the industry. They played a new song for the first time "the Day you Left" that is still stuck in my head. Perhaps I'll be able to hear something other than rap on the radio once again. Only one could hope. Nine days played a tight set. Great venue , great time would recommend.

Ninedays was awesome! So was Dishwalla

by BernadetteK on 9/23/14The Paramount - Huntington

I don't know Stroke 9 but they sounded great. Dishwalla was amazing and just acquired a new fan. Ninedays was amazing too! I haven't seen them play in a number of years but they sounded awesome. It was great listening to songs off their Madding Crowd album along with a few new songs. The sound of the venue was really great! Overall a great night.
