    A Good Time!

by Baby Boomer on 2/20/24Gainbridge Fieldhouse - Indianapolis

The city of Indianapolis did an excellent job hosting All Star Weekend. The experience options were varied and within a range of affordability. All Star Practice/Media Day was fun, entertaining and nostalgic. It was great to see up close, young players and veteran stars. I recommend this event if you want to see the players.

Not at all worth the money we paid.

by iicec on 2/20/24Gainbridge Fieldhouse - Indianapolis

You could tell the players didnt want to be there. There was no set practice things for them to do. The West team kinda figured a few things out. Curry was awesome, passing the ball to kids in the stands to shoot from where they sat. He even went into the stands and shot one with them. A couple other guys signed autographs for the kids just off the floor. The East team really didnt have a plan thaey acted like they were running 3 man weave but they werent into it at all. The amount of money that we paid not at all worth it. I really feel like I got ripped off.

    DISAPPOINTING

by Boy Mom on 2/20/24Gainbridge Fieldhouse - Indianapolis

My son and I traveled from Florida to attend the events this past weekend. We left with high expectations and left very underwhelmed. The expectations were to attend a media event and the practice. The reality was really bad seats( court visibility was horrible), court interviews, no practice ( it was a shoot around basically) and too many activities not dealing with either the practice or media interviews. We would have enjoyed the all star weekend more from the comfort of our own home instead of traveling many miles for this lackluster experience.

    Good Time - Fun Experience

by Jared on 2/20/24Gainbridge Fieldhouse - Indianapolis

The Media & Practice day was much more than I thought it'd be. They have things going on non-stop to keep the crowd entertained. The players stayed out there longer than I anticipated as well. My family had a good time. Glad we went.

    NBA All Star Practice

by Daniel on 2/20/24Gainbridge Fieldhouse - Indianapolis

We loved that we got in very quickly. Value was good. Would've loved some kind of schedule of what would be happening and who would be there. It was very disappointing that LeBron James and the Giannis Antetokounmpo were not there. However they did mention that Giannis was stuck on a plane. A lot of people were hoping to see Lebron James. When we went to the Rising Stars game Friday night they gave away souvenir baseball cards. It would've been nice to have some sort of something (program, etc.) to take home. We did enjoy the day very much.

Time of event not clearly marked

by Brian on 2/27/23Jon M Huntsman Center - Salt Lake City

I purchased tickets at 11:00 a.m. (Mountain time) believing that the event began two hours later at 1:00 p.m. When I arrived at the venue, I discovered that the time listed was actually eastern time, so the event had already begun when I purchased and I completely missed the event. No word on a refund. I'm extremely disappointed with the customer service. (Everything was automated, and I couldn't even speak with a live person).

    Not worth the money.

by Rach on 2/23/23Jon M Huntsman Center - Salt Lake City

We kept waiting for the practice to actually start but it felt like one big photo opportunity. Would not go again and would not recommend to anyone.

    This was a ridiculous.

by JP on 2/22/23Jon M Huntsman Center - Salt Lake City

There was no practice. The players were introduced and then stood around talking to each other. Thanks goodness some money was donated to certain Utah charities. In the future they should call it what it is - a charity event with some low grade entertainment. A guy balancing stuff on his chin; the Milwaukee Bucks trampoline dunk team and some trivia games.

Well done for the most part

by Bart on 2/22/23Jon M Huntsman Center - Salt Lake City

We really enjoyed the all-star practice but we have only one real complaint: all of the action was on the opposite side of the court. The usher was nice and told us we could sit anywhere but where it was taped off but all of the shots and action were on the opposite side of the court so all we could see was the backs of the players as they competed. We thought they would have the eastern all-stars on one side of the court for their turns and the western all-stars for their turn but that didn't happen.

    Should have saved our money

by Jan on 2/22/23Jon M Huntsman Center - Salt Lake City

I bought tickets for the NBA All-Star practice for my husband‘s 70th birthday. It was my big surprise for him. He loves watching the Jazz play. He had both knees replaced this past fall and we ended up parking far away from the Huntsman Center an hour before the show. He was barely able to hobble in. I certainly did not expect to pay that kind of money to see a man balance a snowboard on his chin, children playing musical chairs, a father and son try to answer trivia questions about each other’s childhood, two all stars, playing name that tune, and watching a few NBA players shoot some baskets. Total waste of money. Big disappointment to my husband.

    Ridiculous to charge for this

by Sucker on 2/21/23Jon M Huntsman Center - Salt Lake City

To call this a practice is fraudulent. I’d like my money back. Each team shot around for about 15 minutes. The rest of the time was trivia contests, dancing, introductions of teams no one has heard of, marching bands, and even a guy balancing a wheelbarrow on his chin. There was no practice

    Disappointed

by Jives81 on 2/21/23Jon M Huntsman Center - Salt Lake City

When it’s advertised that all the all star players will be there you pay to see all the AllStar specially the main Super Stars so for LeBron and Curry to not show up it was a huge let down.

    NBA All-Star practice

by DCfam on 2/21/23Jon M Huntsman Center - Salt Lake City

Definitely not what I was expecting. Wasn’t even a practice, just a chance for the stars to come out on the court and do a little shooting and let fans see them. Was fun, but would have rather seen them actually practice or interact more with the fans.

    Super Disappointed.

by AEN on 2/21/23Jon M Huntsman Center - Salt Lake City

I paid quite a bit extra for lower bowl seats on the sides of the court. There was NOBODY checking tickets or ushering people to their paid section. So not only was our area busier, but it was overflowing as people stood in the aisles going up the stairs. Again, NOBODY told them they couldn't stand there, and so many who were in seats had obstructed views because of this unregulated crowd. The Boston player's wives repeatedly tried to get the crowd to leave as they pushed up against their "reserved area" seats, causing their little children to cry and feel uneasy. Once the East Teams finished practice, the Boston families left and told the ushers how crazy the crowd is standing in the aisles and how frustrating it was to have them there for their families and all of us in the GA section by them. The usher said she would make sure it didn't happen for the West Team's families. Of course, no one ever came back to monitor the crowd in the aisles. At the end of the event, I could have paid a lot less and sat in the same seats, unbothered by the overflowing crowd in the aisle. Super disappointed with the organization and follow-through for this event.

    NBA All-Star Practice

by Dj on 2/21/23Jon M Huntsman Center - Salt Lake City

This event was honestly disappointing. It should have been a free event. The players didn't do anything, they were just introduced and a few of them did some silly little games. I wouldn't recommend anyone spend any sort of money on this type of thing. The highlight was the guy at the beginning who balanced random objects on his chin. Worst ticket purchase of my life.

    Disappointing

by MG on 2/21/23Jon M Huntsman Center - Salt Lake City

This event was very disappointing. We got to see most of the players, but LeBron James was a no show and that was who my kids were most eager to see. We were also disappointed that the players didn’t do much. They had a few challenges for charity but not all players participated and there was nothing impressive about it. We were hoping for a scrimmage or some drills that demonstrated their unique abilities for being an all star. They also did no signing before or after with fans. Overall the event was definitely not worth the money we paid.

    Not what we expected

by C Pack on 2/21/23Jon M Huntsman Center - Salt Lake City

Marketing was clear as to what we were attending. We assumed that we'd be watching the 2 All Star Teams actually practice. However, this felt more like a hyped-up event to make money. Our kids were so excited to see Lebron, Curry and Durant who didn't show up. We also bought the most expensive tickets thinking we could be close to the court, however the Huntsman Center reserved the first 10 rows of the ENTIRE arena for "VIP"- which never actually filled up. Wouldn't attend again.

    Not as advertised

by Dad on 2/21/23Jon M Huntsman Center - Salt Lake City

This is not a fan friendly event as much as they want to advertise it as that. The venue was okay, but nothing seemed to be well organized. Our seats were located on the End sections, but they were literally letting people sit wherever. This would have been great to know so I could have just bought the cheapest ticket and saved $150. The security was over the top, nothing was as advertised in the security protocols. People were being turned away for having basketballs to get signed, people were turned away for having fanny packs. Ticketmaster sent out an email about Bags and Backpacks 90 min after the event started telling people not to bring them. A little too late. The event itself was ok, but was nothing more than a glorified Pep Rally.. no real practice of any kind. A few of the marquee players didn't show up, including the captain for one of the teams. You could tell the players didn't want to be there at all. Overall I would say to save your money and spend it on something else. This is not the event for you or your family.

    Eh

by Tom Small on 2/21/23Jon M Huntsman Center - Salt Lake City

It was fine. They didn’t do the advertised scrimmage and every event took too long to start.
