He has hundreds of greats, why not use them?

    by Hammer285 on 6/8/16Ascend Amphitheater - Nashville

The concert was good, but it seemed like they had as many 'filler' songs as they did classics. He has been composing for 52 years, and Witches of Eastwick was not one of his greatest scores. Where was Hymn to the Fallen, The Terminal, Summon the Heroes, or even the NBC Nightly News score - all better than a few they chose for the concert. Loved Raiders, Star Wars, Jaws, Jurassic Park, ET and Hook - but this shouldn't have been so hard to pick a handful of greats.

    Movie Magic

by beallgood on 6/7/16Ascend Amphitheater - Nashville

First visit to Ascend Ampitheatre. It was great and staff was friendly. Weather was threathening rain and we prepared accordingly. Music of John Williams was incredible but concert was too short. It only lasted 1 hr 45 min including the intermission and no Encore. I realize a storm front was forecast but it never developed. Would have liked to heard more.

    The soundtrack of my childhood.

    by Loyd13 on 6/7/16Ascend Amphitheater - Nashville

What can I say? What can I say about a performance that brought my childhood soundtrack to life? What can I say about how I thought we might have to run for shelter due to the weather they predicted and it turned out to be nearly perfect? What can I say about the experience that not only I witnessed but my wife and daughter? I can say this: It was one of the best experiences of my life and something I'll remember until my dying day...and beyond. I'm not trying to oversell it. It was just that a great a time.
