About

Having recently completed another successful run with Pixies and Cat Power, Modest Mouse continues to prove themselves to be one of the most consistent live acts today. Modest Mouse released their highly anticipated new album, The Golden Casket, on June 25, 2021 via Epic Records. The Golden Casket heralds another new chapter in the GRAMMY® Award-nominated multi platinum band's unpredictable evolution. Produced with Dave Sardy and Jacknife Lee in Los Angeles and in Modest Mouse's studio in Portland, the album hovers in the liminal space between raw punk power and experimental studio science, frontman Isaac Brock explores themes ranging from the degradation of our psychic landscapes and invisible technology, to fatherhood. The twelve tracks behave like amorphous organisms, undergoing dramatic mutations and mood swings that speak to the chronic tug-of-war between hope and despair that plays out in Brock's head.

  • Fugginawesome!

by GannontheMannon on 11/5/25Rating: 5 out of 5

I’ve seen Modest Mouse many times, and this was by far the best. At the Fillmore in Detroit the sound was just spectacular, the best I’ve ever heard them both performance wise as a band and as the mix in the theater was outstanding. Really satisfying as a long time fan to hear the entirety of The Moon and Antarctica and lots of their early music. Big thumbs up for me!

  • The. Modest Mouse, Built to Spill show 10/18/25

by Mary on 10/25/25The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

The show was great, the Anthem staff friendly & professional, the space was generous. Special thanks to Tanya for her extraordinary kindness! You could use a few more benches at the perimeter, however. The sparse benches /stools were heavily lit by overhead lights & very noisy. A very nice venue for sure

  • Disappointed

by Concert Girl on 10/25/25The Capitol Theatre - Port ChesterRating: 3 out of 5

The whole reason why I got tickets to see Modest Mouse because I love their song Float on, and they did not play their number one biggest hit… SMH Who does that? They’re big, but not that big

  • They sounded good but I didn't know a single song.

    by Pete W. on 10/24/25Rating: 3 out of 5

We're pretty big fans and have seen them before. This time, we waited and waited but never heard any songs we knew. Looking around, nobody seemed to know any of the songs. A little over an hour into it, when we saw about 1/3 of the people leaving, we followed suit. I'm not sure I'd go see them again after this one.

  • Strange to only play a full album

    by Alex F. on 10/21/25Rating: 3 out of 5

Venue is great and was packed. When I bought tickets to this, I wasn't expecting them to play a full album and basically nothing else but that's what they did. Overall, I would say they put on a good show but if you play an album for an entire tour, please bill it as such and I won't go if I don't care for that album. First and last time seeing them.

  • The venue was awful.

by 👋🏻 on 10/21/25Ulster Performing Arts Center - KingstonRating: 1 out of 5

They closed the bar before intermission. They must have had the heat up to 80. A third of the people left including me.

  • One hit song is not enough, plus poor sound

by jba2025 on 10/20/25Ulster Performing Arts Center - KingstonRating: 3 out of 5

OK I'm a casual fan so was dissapointed to only hear ONE of their top 'hits' played the entire show. I'm sure I wasn't alone. Sure, there are uber fans that loved hearing all the other stuff from the albums, and OF COURSE most of any concert will be the less known stuff. But I think it's kinda arrogant of them to play only "Float On"and not one other of their most known pieces. The sound was not great either. I love the band in large part for Isaacs unique style voice and delivery, and I couldn't hear the quality of his voice at all. Even when he spoke between songs, you couldn't make out what he was saying! Also this type of band DOES NOT need TWO Drummers/Drumsets or the 10 foot suspended speakers in a modest indoor theater! Totally drowned out the subtleties of his voice and guitar.

  • Great Venue, Flat Beer

by Nap2012 on 10/18/25MGM Music Hall at Fenway - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

I think this venue is great. Atmosphere is awesome, plenty of standing room, good amount of seating with tables and chairs which is a plus. But the drinks were so expensive and the beer and soda were flat, old, and not enjoyable.
