Mobley on Tour

Music and individual showmanship are combined by the alternative pop singer/songwriter Mobley. A local favorite in Austin, Texas, Mobley is set to commence his fall of 2022 tour, making one stop in Canada and 28 across the United States. Self-described as "post-genre pop," his music is a combination of indie rock and left-field pop. As a one-man band, his performances thrill audiences with his musical prowess; singing, playing guitar, drums, and keyboard while controlling his own visual production. Mobley is known for his debut album, Fresh Lies, Vol. I (2018) and EP Young & Dying in the Occident Supreme (2021), the latter of which includes popular songs "James Crowe," "You Are Not the Hero of this Story" and "Mate." His album, Cry Havoc! was released in September 2022.

Born Anthony Watkins II in North Carolina, Mobley was part of a military family growing up and lived throughout the United States and abroad. His musical interest began as a child as he played trumpet and violin and continued into his teens as he started playing guitar and writing his own songs. In a 2021 interview with The Austin Tribune, Mobley stated his name was chosen after an abstract dream of his. Mobley moved to Austin, Texas, in the early 2010s to pursue his musical career. In 2013 Mobley's cover of the Beatles' song "I Wanna Be Your Man" was featured  in the HBO series "True Blood" and appeared on the soundtrack True Blood: Music from the HBO Original Series, Vol. 4.  His cover of the Beatles song "From Me to You" was part of the compilation album, Beatles Reimagined. Having lived in Austin for more than a decade, Mobley has made a name for himself, being nominated for three Austin Music Awards for Musician of the Year, Song of the Year and Award for Best Pivot. He ended up as a runner-up for Musician of the year, while winning Song of the Year for his song "James Crowe" and Best Pivot for his innovative curbside performances outside of fans' homes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mobley is a promising up-and-comer with his songs "James Crow" and "Swoon" combining with more than 4 million streams on Spotify.
