    Loved it!

by KatyW on 6/6/13Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

First year having my daughter dancing at Marquis. Concert Hall is a great venue to Watch your kid. Personnally, I like watching all kinds of dance and so it makes things interesting to see, kiddies are so cute. Beautiful choreos, especially the older kids. Can't get over how some of those kids look like pros. This was a welcomed change for our family. Sure it is a long show, but one well worth watching. Thanks to all the teachers at Marquis!

    Recital Again Way Too Long!

by 4Cookies4U on 6/1/13Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

Sorry Marquis Dance Academy, as I think you are talented, your show needs to be at least an hour shorter. Perhaps have a master of ceremonies that is more comfortable speaking as well, instead of reading from a piece of paper. The dances could flow faster, have groups standing ready to switch onto the stage faster (as I have been to other dance recitals and that was what I noticed, their switches were way faster). As far as the venue itself, this year it was too cold Wednesday and Thursday evenings and I happen to have a very large tall man in front of me that his head blocked the whole center of the stage for me, so bad I took a picture and posted my view on Facebook. That was so disappointing to try and watch my daughter dance :(. Oh also, for Marquis, even though this was not an issue in our case, I strongly recommend to the teachers, please rotate your choreography to the dancers in the back row, families come to "SEE" their loved ones dance. I know you can rotate them, so bring back row to the front please!!!!!!

    Marquis dance was ok.

by cdnbvr on 5/31/13Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

This years show was good. I feel sorry for the parents who never get to see their kids since the same ones always seem to be in the front row. Everyone pays the same for their class so everyone should get equal time at least close to the front so they can be seen by their family members who pay $25 for their seat. Class types should be together on certain nights. Tuesday - beginner classes Wednesday - Ballet & tap Thursday - Hip hop, lyrical, ect. That way you get to see the classes you want to see. As I do not have a 4 year old I really don't enjoy watching them stand on the stage not really doing anything. The same with ballet, I am not into that and my kids do not take those classes, so I find them kind of boring to watch. Although the kids who are in those classes are super talented and do a great job.

by cdnbvr on 6/13/12Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

Both of my kids danced on the Wednesday night, they were great, of course I am a bit biased ; ) We were in row 5 which was a bit too close, next year we'll try for a few rows back.

    Marquis Dance Recital

by 4Cookies4U on 5/27/11Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

Even though they shortened it from last year, I still feel the show was too long. The seats we were in were too far to the side to appreciate alot of the formations in the dances. Some of the dancers we could not even see from our angle. We appreciated the people that had flashlights to help you find your seat. Please remind families that just because their child is done dancing, leaving and standing up in front of us who are trying to watch our child is extremely rude. And for Marquis, you need to change up the front row dancers, All our DVD's have the same dancers in front row year after year, same girls in the front!!! One group you had was sooooo large that I would want my money back if my child was dancing in that group because they were sooooooo far in the back you could barely see them and they did not even move the lines forward to give the back row a chance to be seen. Not sure if this was the feedback you wanted but here it is anyway.
