I only rated the event average because the Sparks, the host team, lost the game in their home arena. It was exciting just being in the Staples Center to enjoy the night of basketball with all in attendance.
Although Candice Parker was out injured for this game I really enjoyed watching my first WNBA game.
Lot of fun. Great entertainment. Anyone who enjoys basketball would enjoy this game.The game would of been a lot better if Sparks would of one.
Great time. Very convenient to metro. Will definitely attend another game. Unfortunately Sparks did not win, but they played an awesome game!
Although the Sparks lost... it was a great time... had dinner at LA LIVE b4 the game then enjoyed great seats and an awesome event!!! Great Family event as well... when you eat b4 the event you save overall, and we had an excellent dinner. With Happy Hour Drinks
I took a friend along with her two young daughters. We had the time of our lives. They are not big sports fans but they really enjoyed themselves. The Staples Center staff was very professional and helpful.
Great seat to watch a great game. My team won! Folks come out to see this great team for a great price. Let's go Sparks!
Amazing game to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the WNBA
The game was great, a lot of energy, fun and team work. The sparks have proven that they have what it takes to win. The entire team played great, including the bench players. I am looking forward to watching the rest of the season. Especially, when they win the playoffs.
We had a great time! We are looking forward to going to more games in the weeks to come.
I always enjoy going to Sparks games. The crowd is energetic and the players are unbelievably talented!
Spectacular player both on and off the court. My daughter absolutely love her!!! It's rare to see a star player greet her fans after a game and even took the time to sign some autographs. We'll be goint to the Sparks game again soon.
I was used to Laker games and this was so different but in a really nice way. Really fun with nice fans and great team effort and team ball by Sparks players.

As a non-Californian attending an LA Sparks game, I enjoyed the game My reason for attending the game was to see Maya Moore play her first pro game, and I think she did well, though Minnesota lost, as was not unexpected. I do enjoy the "family ambience" of WNBA games, which I have attended in New York as well as LA. The crowds seem less rowdy than at NBA games.
Went with the family to support the LA Sparks and to see how Maya Moore was going to perform at this level. She definitely brought the game to the LA fans. It was great to see Candance and the entire Sparks team play hard. Great game all around. It was great to see lots of girls basketball teams out there to support the WNBA! Make some noise and come out to all home games!
What a great turnout for the Sparks season opener! That night was filled with fun!
For the past 4 years my girlfriend and I have gone to every first home game of the season for the Sparks. Being that we live in Las Vegas, we don't get to see them play as often as we'd like but we've dedicated the first home game of every season to them for the past 4 years. This game has to be one of the best games that we have seen live. The Sparks got off to a rough and slow start but, no thanks to the horrible refs, they came back strong after half time and took over the court. The Lynx, I must admit, were awesome and gave the Sparks a run for their money but this was a win that the Sparks wanted and they wanted to BAD! Super awesome game for both teams!
Always great to see the Sparks. I have had tickets since game one against NY Liberty in the Forum. The crowd was great, the girls won the game, but what the heck happened to the sound system at Staples Center. They pay 13 million dollars for a new scoreboard and in the process ruined the sound system. It is a garbled mess and everyone around us complained about it and we had friends in from Minnesota to support their team and they couldn't believe how bad the sound was. It very much detracted from the experience! Unbelievable how a multi-million dollar building can not properly take care of the basic requirements of a great stadium. And would someone please tell the announcer that there is a "defense music" to play while the Sparks are on defense. All night long the only thing he played was "Let's Go Sparks", nice, but not always appropriate. The overall presentation was a HUGE step down from all the years I have been going to the Sparks, including the old Forum days. I would think musical bands must hate that sound system. Come on Staples and new Announcer - Step Up Your Game, you can do better then that!
