Leipzig String Quartet.
by Benito27 on 3/24/15Library of Congress - WashingtonMost of the music on this program was pretty 'ho-hum'. As in, it was all very, very good but the music on the program was fairly boring at times. This is to say that the composer is at fault and not the performers who were excellent and extremely professional. One got the sense that they could play anything, but chose to play Debussy who is by definition pretty 'ho-hum', but that's just Debussy. The Wagner was fascinating moreover, being all of 13 bars of music. The encore was a treat of that preeminent composer of Leipzig, J.S. Bach. And lest I forget, the Stravinsky did not speak to me particularly, but the crowd ate it all right up! In other words, they loved it.
