Beautiful Ballet
by catlady2 on 3/5/12Peoria Civic Center - PeoriaJust loved this presentation. Great costumes and energy Loved that they had the best scenes from different ballets, so it was very varied. Very enjoyable. Great talent. Just amazing.
We're sorry, but we couldn’t find any events. Try updating your location and date range, or use more general keywords.

The performance by the ballet dancers as beautiful. The evening would have been perfect, but for the cute little russian girl from hell sitting with her momma behind me. That four year old jabbered loudly about 70% of the time. About 50% of the time she kept kicking the back of my seat. Then her mom made her talk to someone ON HER CELL PHONE!!! The last straw was when she began playing with my hair. Lucky for her, I'm the mom of 3 (well behaved kids). Why do people bring such little kids to events like these? I do not normally spend money on events, but this was something I've been wanting to see for a long time. But because of the girl's distraction, I wasn't able to enjoy it fully. Another thing, this theater's seating arrangements should have had more of an incline from front to back so that the person's head in front of you (even though I had a child in front of me) wouldn't be in the way. The seats were not very comfortable either, as I tried to sit up to get a better view, it wouldn't allow me to. You would think for the pricey tickets we wouldn't have to worry about such things.
This was our first experience at a live professional ballet. At first we were slightly let down when we learned the music was recorded ... this disappointment subsided after about 10 seconds. What flash, beauty, emotion! The finale was like fireworks! After the performance, we sat in the car and re-hashed the entire night. We will be seeing this ballet company again!
Loved it. Will also go for the Spartacus premiere on the 3rd here in Peoria.
