KINKY BOOTS is Broadway's huge-hearted, high-heeled hit! With songs by Grammy® and Tony® winning pop icon Cyndi Lauper, this joyous musical celebration is about the friendships we discover, and the belief that you can change the world when you change your mind. Inspired by true events, KINKY BOOTS takes you from a gentlemen's shoe factory in Northampton to the glamorous catwalks of Milan.
Charlie Price is struggling to live up to his father's expectations and continue the family business of Price & Son. With the factory's future hanging in the balance, help arrives in the unlikely but spectacular form of Lola, a fabulous performer in need of some sturdy new stilettos.
With direction and choreography by two-time Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell (Legally Blonde, Hairspray) and a book by Broadway legend and four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (La Cage Aux Folles), KINKY BOOTS is the winner of six Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Choreography.
Take a step in the right direction and discover that sometimes the best way to fit in is to stand out. "There is no show hotter than KINKY BOOTS!" – CBS News
Great show! Loved the set and the singing. I hope to see it again in the future.
This was such a great production! We had so much fun watching the cast and crew put on such an amazing show!
Kinky Boots was a show that absolutely blew me away. The cast was so talented and able to preform like they have known each other their entire lives. The vocal ranges of everyone absolutely blew my mind. The show has great lessons for everyone to learn and an absolute great time for all ages.
The music was AMAZING!!! LOLA is my new queen!!!! So much talent wrapped up in such sexy boots!!!!
I really enjoyed Kinky Boots. The music was great, the acting was great. Very upbeat and fun.
If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would! It was absolutely amazing. The cast was perfect. I could go on and on about the show for hours, but I won't do that to anyone! It was perfect and amazing and I want to see it again.
Chicago touring production of Kinky Boots was phenomenal! Their were no weak heals! Everyone of them was tremendously talented! Lola/Simon and her runway kick line ...Wow! Loved them. Nice touch with Young Charlie in Red boots in the curtain call finale! Young Simon adorable, red heels - cutest. Amazing, a production not to be missed. Orchestra J seats.
Excellent show! The only surprising thing was how much stronger the Lola character voice was over the Charlie character. When Lola performed the second solo (nursing home setting), was reminiscent of Dream Girls and the Jennifer Holiday solo.
Fun and energetic cast made this a delightful theater experience!
This show has been on my wife's bucket list and we were fortunate to find very good seats during the final performance in Chicago. We -- especially my wife -- thoroughly enjoyed everything! The cast, the stagecraft, the music, the singing. Everything.
Being able to sit in the second row to see such a wonderful play that was so very entertaining and had a message was beyond my wildest dreams!!! I am sorry that it was in Chicago for a short run but have told a lot of my friends who live out of state to be sure to attend this when this play comes to their town :).
Great show wonderful actors, singers, dancers would recommend show
Saw it two times in one week enough said! Well no not enough, it was FANTASTIC!!!!
Wonderful music and dancing. Excellent story line.
Loved, loved, loved Kinky Boots! Cyndy Lauper's music was fabulous, as expected!! Lola was my favorite! Make sure to see it if it comes back here!
Kinky Boots is always a consistently amazing and entertaining show with a great message. The Oriental Theatre is a wonderful venue and always an enjoyable experience.
Had a great story to tell and the music was phenomenal and the actors were THE BEST EVER!!!! I would recommend this to everyone!!!!
I am a middle school teacher and can't wait to share highlights with my students!
This was a terrific show well worthy of the Best Musical Tony in 2013. All elements of the production were outstanding. Despite the show's title, it really is a family friendly musical with a positive message. Conservative critics who were quick to criticize the musical before seeing it would actually embrace the message of hard work makes success and treating all people fairly is the morally right thing to do. The one aspect of the experience I did not enjoy was the selling of concessions in the house. Since when did a theatre become a ballpark? Before the show and at the intermission we had people going through the house hawking drinks and candy. C'mon folks let's have a little bit of decorum. Special recognition should go to J. Harrison Ghee, Adam Kaplan and Tiffany Engen for their phenomenal work.
Both myself and my wife loved the show. The actors were great . The message in the show was awesome. The only compliant was seating was a little tight, but I am a taller male.
