JOHN LEGEND IN CONCERT:
Piano virtuoso and vocal crooner John Legend has had fans awestruck ever since his 2004 debut album Get Lifted. Whether he's performing hits at the 56th Grammy Awards or collaborating with some of R&B's top acts, John Legend doesn't need much in order to deliver an exceptional live show. Often playing with just a solo grand piano, he allows his soulful vocals to be at the forefront as he treats concertgoers to hits like "Ordinary People" and "All Of Me." Legend will continue to reward fans with his smooth slow-jams on a string of intimate upcoming tour dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
John Legend got his start in music at an early age, playing piano and performing in his church choir. While in college, Legend led the a cappella group Counterparts, but it wasn't until collaborating with Lauryn Hill on her song "Everything Is Everything" that his career started to bloom. His 2004 debut album Get Lifted was the catalyst that sparked his rise to stardom, earning gold certification and three Grammy Awards. Since then, Legend has released four acclaimed albums, earned nine Grammy Awards, and collaborated with some of music's greatest hip hop icons including Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige and the Black Eyed Peas. His 2013 album Love In The Future was met with positive reviews, peaking at No. 2 on the US Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and featuring the love song "All Of Me," a platinum hit in the US. Back on the road, John Legend is sure to delight fans with his romantic ballads on a string of highly anticipated tour dates.

No words can describe just how talented he is. I was and still am in awe. We sat in the fifth row. Just a man, mic, and piano. Perfection. He earns the stage name "Legend"in every way.

But this performance has given me a newfound respect for him as a person and performer. He spoke of his family, upbringing and how it tied into his steps and growth in his career. I came away with a new desire to reintroduce myself to his music. I also fell in love with Stay With Me upon hearing it…so much so, that I want it played at my wedding. I recommend everyone attend one of his concerts.

When I entered the theatre, there wasn't anything on the stage except a beautiful, grand piano, and I knew I was in for a treat. For this concert, the only musician to ever take the stage was John himself - no band, no backup singers. This felt like a very intimate and cozy cabaret experience where you really get to know the performer and the "man behind the music."John shared a lot of personal stories about growing up, his family, his early career, how he got his stage name. The performances were soulful yet simple, as it was just his rich voice and his beautiful piano playing. It was truly a memorable experience, and the type of show I would love to see other performers create.

The purity of his voice and range of his vocals outstanding! Think of a memoir set to music. It was phenomenal! I would highly recommend this concert. You will leave with a greater appreciation and respect for him and his commitment to.his craft. It was a great "Evening with John Legend"pun intended but warranted.

He is such a gifted performer and it was fascinating to learn so much about his life. It was just him and his piano on stage. His voice was brilliant throughout and very suited to the venue with its soaring ceilings. Loved every minute.

His incredible journey as who he was and who is he is today from start to finish... Not only is an amazing, singer, song writer, brilliant, well spoken but he charm is welcoming! Loved every minute and the The Beacon is the one of the best venue to see a performance like this.... Excellent

The slideshow could not be seen as it was hidden by the speaker system. This could have been avoided by better placement of the screen on the right side of the stage versus partially obscured (75%) behind the speakers
