About

In Creases
Choreographer: Justin Peck
Music: Philip Glass
Peck has launched his choreographic
career with a buzz rarely found these
days in dance circles. The New York Times described In Creases as a
“dreamscape that heightens the progress
and colors of its score.”

Evenfall
Choreographer: Nicolas Blanc
Music: Max Richter
This lyrical piece follows the thread of poetry running through the lives of a couple at the beginning of their romance, and in their autumn years.

Incantations
Choreographer: Val Caniparoli
Music:  Alexandre Rabinovitch-Barakovsky
The arc of the music and the ballet is continuous movement, akin to a vortex or a mantra.  Underlying this spiral motion is a sense of human spirituality, mysticism and prayer.

It was awesome. At least for me it was a really new work like a modern ballet and full of excitements.

    New Works - delightful

    by brave3heart on 5/5/15Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Great performance with original choreography by talented, skilled dancers. I would limit the performance to only one intermission, though.

The dancers were talented and very entertaining. I would love to see them dance the Nutcracker.

    Splendid Performance

by kolj on 4/28/15Cadillac Palace - Chicago

As usual, the dancers themselves were spectacular. Amazing athletes, dancers and actors, every one of them. As for the performances, I was most impressed with "In Creases" by Justin Peck. The black pianos in the rear of the stage and the classical style of the performance were remarkable. Incantations had less passion or emotion than the others, but the solos as well as the spins, twists and swirls were such a joy to watch. Liturgy and Evenfall were much better than I had anticipated and was pleasantly surprised, as I figured there would be much more modern dance intermingled with the ballet, which I do not like. Overall, it was a great performance and I would definitely recommend it, even to those who dislike contemporary ballet. The classical elements far outweighed the modern.

    Ballet great/theatre not

by CAfromMich on 4/26/15Cadillac Palace - Chicago

This performance suffered due to the Cadillac Palace. Seats not in good condition. The sound system not professional. Much too loud. Sat with fingers in our ears. My husband said it was a high school auditorium sound system. First number with two pianos was great. Too bad sports overrides the arts...the Auditorium Theater would have enhanced this performance. Would have liked one number with classical ballet music...
