    Insightful play.

by Karriem on 11/19/19Music Hall Center - Detroit

I would suggest that if you get the opportunity to see this play - please do it. I connect on several levels. Fortunately, I grew up in a city and time that was known for its Jitneys. The play provided lessons on forgiveness, along with its humor. See this play!

    What a great production!

by Max G on 11/19/19Music Hall Center - Detroit

I thoroughly enjoyed this play and production performed at the Music Hall. All of the actors fit their roles perfectly and the set was appropos for the time period. It's one of the best plays I've seen in a while. If this play comes to a theatre near you, go see it!

    Emotionally filling

by Again on 11/19/19Music Hall Center - Detroit

The venue is great, the audience was polite and mesmerizing, but the play was beyond all my expectations. Even after reading reviews and a synopsis of the story, I was overwhelmed with just about every emotion I could experience.

A red letter day for us.

by Patty on 11/19/19Music Hall Center - Detroit

This was my husbands birthday gift! It was his first stage play! We loved the show. We laughed, got teary and found it to be a great time, except, it was difficult to hear some of the lines. It would have been much more enjoyable if the overhead mikes would have been on. Our 'older' ears just dont hear as well as they used to. But, the show was a winner!

    Powerful and Inspirational

by Black Theater Lover on 11/19/19Music Hall Center - Detroit

Jitney is a powerful exploration of the challenges Black men faced in the 1970's, the internal struggles and conflicts, and the outside obstructions placed upon them by societal racism. August Wilson once again delivers an intense message of Black men interacting in the urban environment of Pittsburgh, representing the black communities throughout the nation. The acting was superb, and the ending gave hope and inspiration for a better future despite the setbacks reminiscent of contemporary issues today.

Excellent performers, well staged. I believed the characters and was rooting for their success. Did not want the show to stop for intermission...wanted to keep going!

Play was phenomenal. It surpassed my expectations!

by Take My Breath Away on 11/18/19Music Hall Center - Detroit

Loved the play! Everyone should see it. Theater seets extremely tight. Make necessary trips prior to sitting down and wear comfy clothing because you will feel cramped. However the play is so good once you're immersed you stop thinking about the seating.
