BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Raised on Long Island in a musical household, Jenny Anne Ognibene learned to play guitar by practicing on the instruments that her father left lying around the house. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in Studio Composition in 2008, she relocated to Los Angeles and began assembling a band. Jenny O. established herself in 2011 with the self-produced EP Home, which featured songs licensed to popular television programs like True Blood, Wilfred, and Off the Map. Her full-length debut album Automechanic arrived in 2013, the same year that she made her national television debut on Last Call with Carson Daly. In 2014 she sang the theme song for the ABC sitcom Selfie before heading out on the road with the likes of Father John Misty, Ben Harper, and Leon Russell. As fans eagerly await her second album, Jenny O. continues to delight audiences with her carefree songs in concert.

    JENNY O was impressive at the MERCURY LOUNGE NYC!

    Back in February of 2013 I was catching up on a few weeks of new releases when I came upon JENNY O for the first time. She had just released her first full length album AUTOMECHANIC. I found the work to be refreshing- playful and provocative. I didn't sense that she was gonna be an overnight superstar but I heard a bright future of steady evolvement and growth. I noticed she was playing at my favorite small club in NYC- THE MERCURY LOUNGE. WOW- what a performer she turned out to be! So young and yet so comfortable on the stage. At one point she sent her band off for a break while she continued solo and never missed a beat maintaining full mastery of the stage. This was her first headlining gig in NYC and she killed it!
