    Not a college level perfomance

by Jenfree on 4/14/13USF Theatre 2 - Tampa

The lead husband and wife were fair but the comedic timing of all actors was poor. The acting seemed awkward and rough, not the "vibrator" scenes, the entire show . I recently saw Evita at a private high school and it was a far superior performance, although I do prefer musicals for entertainment. I thought the set was INCREDIBLE, hats off to stage design and costumes. If it wasn't for the inappropriate comments and outbursts of the seniors sitting in front of me and the unconformable seating I may have dozed off.

    Fun and intimate

by DMGiantsfan on 4/3/12Des Moines Civic Center - Des Moines

The intimate setting at the Stoner Theatre adds to the overall feeling of being in the scenes. The cast did a terrific job with the play. It was energenic and fun. Seeing the living room and the operating theatre (the Next Room) side by side while the scenes played out added to the humor and fun.

The first half of the play was lots of fun with sneaky humor and fun. The second half gets more sentimental and drags a bit with an overly complicated plot.

Next Room was full of surprises!!

by Franny12 on 3/27/12Des Moines Civic Center - Des Moines

In The Next Room-the Vibrator Play cast was amazing! They each portrayed their character's personality superbly, making you feel like you were actually in that era. The lady's dresses were beautiful. I didn't know what to expect of this play and was in awe of all the historical facts that came out in this hilarious comedy - the religious beliefs, the prejudices, the women's coming of 'self-awareness' (and men's!). I can't remember when I have had a more enjoyable evening. I would highly recommend this to my friends. Kudos to the cast and supporting staff!!
