    Great Show

by KWick on 7/15/15Deerfoot Inn & Casino - Calgary

Ian Tyson was amazing. His performance brought back memories of great times and created new ones. Loved the comments he made between songs. Hope to attend another Ian concert.

Ian Tyson in fine voice and humor!

by PleinAirArtist on 5/19/15Birchmere - Alexandria

Ian Tyson's concert at the Birchmere was certainly a grand event. While the man has aged, he was in very good voice, and put on a great show. His stage banter kept things moving, and was wry and funny. His selection of songs included most of his (and Sylvia's) older hits, plus a perfect smattering of his newer, cowboy material. All in all, a memorable night with an old pal.

    Ian is back!!

by Doed on 5/19/15Birchmere - Alexandria

Wonderful show. Ian's once damaged voice is back to it's usual self. New songs were great and old familiar ones had been reworked and renewed. Terrific.

Ian Tyson and opening act was awesome

by Countryalive on 8/6/14Hayloft Acres - Sherwood Park

Was a great evening the crowd wasn't to big just right the weather was beautiful and the show was so good. Loved the opening act impersonating Hank Williams doing all his songs he was great loved it. Ian Tyson I've always wanted to see him it was nice to hear him joking around and he still sounds awesome considering his age. Our seating however was very confusing it seemed like people just sat wherever they wanted. It was out first time out there and there were no visible markers and nobody to direct you to your seats so we ended up in the very back row furthest from the stage:-( But with all this I would love to attend another good country venue at this location.

Ian Tyson is a phenomenal performer; he played for 2 hours with only a 15 minute break! His stage presence is amazing and he had the entire audience laughing and singing along with him. I would definitely see him perform again. As for the venue, I was very impressed with the Arden Theatre. The show was very intimate because of the tiered seating; I was easily able to see the stage with nothing to obstruct my view. The staff there were very friendly and helpful as well.

    Amazing Ian Tyson!

by ShastaNevada on 9/21/10Kelowna Community Theatre - Kelowna

Ian Tyson is the unsung hero of songwriters. In a way I am glad -- because that makes him more accessible to those who do know about him! Amazing that he continues to write songs, and captivate an audience, 40+ years later! I look forward to my next opportunity to see him in concert.

    Ian Tyson Older and Better

by Ukelele on 2/6/10Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

The singer-song writer Ian Tyson is a Canadian icon. His voice has changed and is more gravelly, but he he appeared comfortable with his new voice and it added to the authenticity of his songs of a Western landscape and a Western way of life which is disappearing from our geographic landscape and the landscape of our minds. His new songs are unapologetically personal such as "Lioness" and "Smugglers Cove". Woven into the set list of new songs are older ones that his audiences have come to love such "Summer Wages", "Four Strong Winds" and "Navajo Rug". His bass player and lead guitar player are excellent musicians and the overall musicianship by all three was superb. I would have liked to have seen more young people in the audience so that they may be exposed to an authentic voice singing about "The Cowboy Way".

    Ian Tyson

by CadillacMan on 1/9/10Horizon Stage - Spruce Grove

I have been a devout fan of Ian Tyson for many, many years. The beauty of his performances is that the music does not drown out his wonderful pure voice. You can hear every word. He gives you more than your monies worth each and every time. At age 75 he still 'has it'.
