With his slick personal style and raspy rocker voice, Huey Lewis and his band the News became icons of heartland rock in the '80s. Following the acclaimed 2013 Sports Anniversary Tour in honor of the 30th anniversary of their chart-topping 1983 album Sports, Lewis and company thrilled fans with the announcement of additional dates in 2014. Renowned for their stellar musicianship and timeless charisma, the band have become a live favorite for their rollicking sets of upbeat '80s classics.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

New York-born, California-raised Huey Lewis got his start in the early '70s performing with San Francisco-based country rockers Clover.  After the band disbanded in the late '70s, he put together the group that would ultimately become the News. In 1985, Lewis and the News shot to mainstream success after their songs “The Power of Love” and “Back in Time” were both featured prominently in the 1985 sci-fi classic Back to the Future. The following year, they topped charts around the world with their fourth album Fore!, racking up some of the era's seminal hits with “Hip to Be Square” and “Stuck With You." More albums followed in the ‘90s and ‘00s, including a collection of ‘60s R&B covers and a tribute to the soul tunes of Stax Records. Back on tour, the band are set to rock on a string of highly anticipated North American dates.
