Smokey Summer Jam…Still A Vibe
by Ms Berry on 6/30/25Prudential Center - NewarkRating: 4 out of 5Summer Jam was cool. It’s just not the same. Summer Jam used to be a vibe vibe with great performances and surprise guests. This year was ok it was just disappointing in the fact that there wasn’t a great surprise moment. Not counting Meek Mill coming out and doing dreams and nightmares, (which honestly he can’t really get through that entire first verse he let the crowd do it and that wasn’t even finished). Jim Jones and friends was questionable because you’re looking like what friends? It was just him and Juelz. Additionally his set got cut short and it was extremely long A Boogie came out at like 1:30am, being though this event started at 7pm, getting out at about 2M is tiring. Glorilla and Muni Long was great. Ja Rule was good too aside from the fact that it was no Ashanti or Lil Mo to accompany him on stage to do his biggest hits. However it was cool that Jadakiss, Vita and Charlie Baltimore came out. Ja Rule is a really good performer and has a good catalog. Overall decent show, but my goodness the open smoking in there was unbearable. I get that at certain events there’s an extensive amount of smoking, I assumed it wouldn’t be like that. This event had a way younger crowd which was surprising because of the line up. The younger crowd always brings the smoke literally and the security at the prudential can not control it.
