Haelos in Concert
As a group that was signed to a recording deal on the strength of their stunning, Ableton-created trip-hop before ever playing live, the development of a live concert experience has been top of mind for London's Haelos (stylized as HÆLOS). Originally a trio, Haelos go above and beyond that commitment in front of a crowd, delivering their blissfully paranoid, dark electronic rock as a six-member collective. Front and center are singers Lotti Benardout and Arthur Delaney, who bring to life the chilly feel of West London winters beneath towering buildings lining the streets. Listening at home to Haelos means getting happily lost within the sonics, as their cinematic sensibilities bleed through the speakers. The journeying elation of their live shows make the listening experience no different. After a two-year touring hiatus in North America, Haelos will be back on stage in the U.S. and Canada throughout March and April.
Haelos Background
Instead of juggling two different musical projects with singers Lotti Benardout and Arthur Delaney, producer Dom Goldsmith brought them together, and the trio Haelos was born. The group released their breakthrough single, "Dust," in 2014 and quickly became the talk of the blogosphere. Haelos' sound meets at the intersection of Tricky's trip-hop, the modern vocal stylings of London Grammar, and the rhythmic electronica instrumentals of Jungle. Their 2016 Matador Records-released debut album, ‘Full Circle,' is filled with spins on reciprocating male/female vocals sinking into the mystique of nocturnal beats; it peaked at No. 5 on the U.S. electronic Billboard charts. In 2018, they added touring member Daniel Vildósola to the band full-time to deepen their collective productions. They've released the first new single since 2016, "Buried in the Sand," and promise more to come on the Infectious Records label in 2019.
