    This performace was better then expected and that is an understatement. The audience was captivated throughout the entire performance and w/out a doubt enjoyed the entire show. The song selection was great and at times - the audience sang along.

    Byron Stripling was "larger than life"

    I was expecting a lot from Byron Stripling, after having seen him on his previous visit a couple of years ago, but the performance on Saturday evening of "The Gospel according to Swing" literally blew me away...let's see how many complimentary adjectives I can come up with for him - as the title says, he seemed "larger than life" - his booming voice and enormously brilliant trumpet virtuousity are with me still as I find myself humming some of the old favorite Gospel songs that Byron so skillfully presented. If readers of this EVER have the opportunity to listen to Byron Stripling, I heartily recommend taking advantage of that option - I'll be right there beside you!
