The music was good. The staff was great and the shopping experience is very diverse. Over all it was a hella great night!
great concert on the capitol stage. got crushed by the surge of drunks but thats what i get for being in the front row. Atmosphere was great. being such an open venue, we were able to meet Slug and Ant and have a conversation and get an autograph on our vinyl. One of the best nights of my life. highly recommended
They played songs off of all their albums, which was nice because normally bands stick to mostly songs off their most recent album. They got the entire crowd involved and dancing. I love Matt & Kim's music and I own all of their albums, but this was the first time I've actually seen them live and they blew my expectations out of the water. Go see Matt & Kim!!!!
I loved seeing Watsky and F. Strokes play! The first couple opening acts were kind of boring and weren't my taste, but as soon as Watsky came on, I was amazed!
This was my first time at FreakFest. I had a great time. The only complaint I have is that they didn't have any merch stands or anything besides the live shows. It would have been nice to be able to buy some stuff while I was there.
Overall it was a fun event! Great venue in Madison, great headliners. Good for dancing. Cons were the stage setups. Nothing cooler than Matt and Kim right in front of the Capitol. Problem is that the main stages (Capitol, Gilman) were at the tops of hills, so it was reverse-stadium seating and hard to see much at all. Stages at bottoms of hills would be much better. Also, not enough restrooms. Local businesses close theirs up for the most part, so port-a-johns would have been nice.
