    Kwanzaa 2010 was phenomonal!!!

by NaturalMystic99 on 12/29/10Apollo Theater - New York

Celebrating Kwanzaa with the Forces of Nature was truly a night of regeneration. We traveled from New Jersey as we were determined not to miss this event. The whole program was tremendous from the energy only Imhotep Gary Byrd could bring to the remarkable contributions of Kimati Dinijulu, Dja-Rara, Jusin Long, and Sean B. The Forces of Nature lived up to their name and their reputation. The blizzard of love, creativity, unity and pure beauty was more powerful than the blizzard outside.

    A Must See

by kitcat66 on 12/28/10Apollo Theater - New York

The Forces of Nature Dance Theatre is a must see troop. Very entertaining! Great visual aids, costumes, concepts. Pay close attention...you will see the clean lines, all dance postions, styles and the pulling of every culture infused in their concerts. Take a friend and come with an open mind. The musicians are just as thrilling. Check out their website. Mr. Salaam is on the ball and Mrs. Harvey is fantastic as usual (not to mention I studied under her for a moment in time - ha!). Go see them as often as you can. Well done!

    Kwanzaa Celebration was awesome

by marrietta on 12/28/10Apollo Theater - New York

Yes, I was one of those who weathered the storm. I took public transportation, bus and train, alone from the Bronx. My friend refused to go out in the increment weather. I guess visiting from Georgia it was more than she could handle. I am 71 years old but even though I wasm warned not to try to go, I was determined to see the show for the 2nd time. I was able to give the ticket belonging to my friend to someone who was trying to purchase one there.Getting home was horrendous. I was one of those stuck on the train for hours before we had to abandon the train and find alternate routes. I was lucky enough to find a cab. Would I do it again? Absolutely. Thank you for the generous donation of complimentary tickets to amateur hour. I hope to be able to take advantage of them. I'm looking forward to next year, God Willing.

This event must be seen every year! The dancers were amazing! Could hardly stay in our seats becaue of the beats of the drummers. The costumes were colorful and the entire performance was spirtual and uplifting.
