It was a wondersful concert. I really enjoyed the way that Keith shared information about the composers. The singers had great voices.

    Boston Pops

by GandEL on 3/20/11Northland Performing Arts Center - Longwood

I have been trying to see the Boston Pops for over 25 years and just never got the opportunity to do so. When I saw the advertisement about them being in Longwood and the Northland Performing Arts Center I immediately ordered tickets for their concert. I could not have been more pleased with their performance and especially the facility and its great acustics. The sounds were great. I hope to return for more events to Northland in the near future. I am only 60 miles away but that will not bother me at all to enjoy a great evening. Thanks for a fine evening.

    Boston Pops Great

by showtech on 3/20/11Northland Performing Arts Center - Longwood

As expected, The Pops were wonderful. What wasn't expected was the sound. All I can say is WOW! This room is the best I've heard in a long time.

    Pedestrian Performance

by Anonymous on 3/20/11Northland Performing Arts Center - Longwood

This was a pedestrian, scripted performance of tunes from the likes of Cole Porter, George Gerswhin, Irving Berlin, Richard Rogers and other luminaries from that wonderful era of popular and broadway music. The first half was unfortunately stolid and rather boring and got me to thinking to myself "And a one, and a two and a three..." Kelli O'Hara was an essential ingredient in saving the perfomance after intermission with some splendid singing. Mind you, the audience was enthusiastic, as Orlando audiences are wont to be, but this canned performance was not up to the standards of what the Boston Pops delivers at its best. It was an 'on the road' production and sounded like it.

I thought alot of people in audience including me was falling asleep with all this very mellow music, think adding some percussion and picking it up a bit would be good. also thought tickets were too expensive at 45.00 a pop
