About

Father on Tour

The underground rap scene is alive and well as proven by Centel Orlando Magnum; better known by his stage name of Father. His eight-stop Good Things Come to Those that Take Tour across the United States featured special guests: Archibald Slim, Hook, Meltycanon, Clip, Slug Christ, and Ethernal. This tour follows the release of Father's new album, Young Hot Ebony 2. Known for his deadpan delivery and powerfully descriptive lyrics, Father puts on a show that is sure to incite the feeling of unity (with the help of the other artists on his tour) and a love for live performances. As one concertgoer described his show, "It was absolutely amazing. The vibe was awesome." Father has developed over time creating provocative lyrics mixed with minimalistic beats.

Father Live in Concert

Born in Mississippi, Father moved to Atlanta at the age of 10. After high school he briefly studied chemistry at Georgia State University in Atlanta. Father then founded Awful Records in 2011. At one point, Awful Records was comprised of 17 artists (Father, Ethereal, Archibal Slim, Keith Charles Spacebar, Rich Poslim, Slug Christ, Gahm, Stalin Majesty, Lord Narf, Lui Diamonds, ABRA, Micah Freeman, Playboi Carti, Tommy Genesis, Alexandria, Coodie Breeze, and Dexter), many members of the group were met through school and friends of friends. In 2014 Father had his breakthrough single "Look at Wrist" (featuring  ILOVEMAKONNEN and Key!) and his debut mixtape Young Hot Ebony. His Atlanta-based record label was started by a group of likeminded artists who wanted to be in control of their own futures. Awful Records has the motto of DIY; in the documentary Awful Days: A Documentary about Awful Records, Micah Freeman stated, "That's kind of been the whole attitude behind everything, is do it yourself." The start of this experimental label was just the beginning for Father, creating hits such as "Why Don't U" (featuring ABRA and ILOVEMAKONNEN) and "ICEMAN." Father's other albums include Who's Gonna Get F***ed First, I'm a Piece of S*** and Come Outside, We Not Gone Jump You. Awful Records collaborated with the adult-oriented nighttime cable television channel Adult Swim, and Father's project known as Awful Swim can be heard in-between Adult Swim programming.
