    Amazing event, amazing night

    by Bman09 on 2/16/10Park West - Chicago

Not knowing what to expect from this performance, I went in with an open mind. I was accompanied by my girlfriend and hoped that the underlying message of "love" throughout the show would create a memorable Valentine's Day type event; and it did. Held at Park West, a venue able to hold a large number of people, there were open seats next to the stage and also reservable booths further towards the rear lit from behind with a large bar. We decided on seats close to the stage. The show began with the very eccentric host, Mattrick Swayze, as he announced the acts and gave the audience a rundown of his version of why love is important in life. The dances of both acts that followed varied from stories of lovers expressed through interpretive dance, children's tales with twists of love and tap dancing, break dancing between men and women, and other dances that contained their own special surprise elements. For roughly 2 hours we watched duets, quads and sextets of groups dancing in an attempt to show the audience their type of love. Both my girlfriend and I loved the show and even stuck around to do a little dancing ourselves, as the venue was temporarily turned into a nightclub for people that weren't ready to call it a night. No matter what your age, sex, gender or sexual preference is, there is something in this event that can appeal to you.

    Awesome Show!

    by Lane61 on 2/15/10Park West - Chicago

First dance company show I have ever seen and loved it! A truly awesome evening! Took my new girlfriend (it was our 3rd date) and she absolutely loved it too, so I think the 4th date's going to be a given!

    Love Dances

by slenderella on 2/15/10Park West - Chicago

This was a great show for Valentine's Day with the whole love duet theme. Loved that the crowd wasn't stuffy! The venue, Park West, although cozy and intimate, was at times uncomfortable and annoying. Space was tight! Think about getting pummelled in the back of the head as the waitress--or anyone goes back in forth behind you or hearing drinks being shaken during the silent parts of the show. Most of the acts were cute and charming, but I wouldn't say they had the wow factor in terms of amazing dances. The corkscrew breakdancers were pretty cool. As a fan of MTV's America's Best Dance Crew, it was cool to see this genre live. The final duet was most thrilling to me. It felt most passionate of them all. Love love loved the MC! He certainly shoved homosexual innuendos down our throats, but he was hilarious and seems like a fun character on as well as off the stage!

    EFFING AWESOME!

by japjap on 2/15/10Park West - Chicago

The show was amazing. Plain and simple. It was jam packed with comedy, sex and of course dancing! What I enjoyed the most was the variety of dance styles. The show wasn't just focused on one style of dance which suits my ADD perfectly! I also had a few friends in the show, it was nice to see their other capabilities like working with actual choreography. I was very impressed with the show and definitely enjoyed it. I would totally recommend it to others.

    Fun, varied, talent-filled

This was a fast moving, entertaining performance. There were so many forms of dance represented. In each case the physical skill was present.
