Once I got the hang of how the actors were portraying the scenery it was easy to follow and the jokes flew the entire time. Current jokes, time period jokes, jokes directed at the audience. I almost fell off my seat laughing when they all came out dressed as mermaids. Amazing acting out even inanimate objects!!
I was only slightly familiar with Peter and the Starcatcher prior to seeing the production at Drury Lane Theatre, just outside of Chicago. Yes, my expectations were not real high, but I was hoping for something that would exceed them. WOW. This show, this production, this cast, is AMAZING. This is one of THE MOST entertaining shows I have EVER seen. I was honestly hoping it wouldn't end. It was magical. It was emotional on so many levels. It was, at times, hysterically funny. I own a theatre company in Louisville, KY. We WILL be doing this show when the rights become available. To do it as well as Drury would be aiming far too high, but we certainly have a stellar production as a blue print.
By far, THE best theatrical production in the Chicagoland area! Superb cast. This ensemble of 12 were perfectly matched and played off each other like no other ensemble show I have ever seen. The sets, lighting, costumes and special effects couldn't have better. The magical three in the lofts providing the "musical" accompaniments were outstanding! Although Drury Lane consistently turns out quality productions, this one is definitely on top of the list of winners! Matt Mueller as Black Stache alone is worth the trip to the suburbs. If I didn't live in Florida, I would go back again and again! Loved it!
Very interesting play. Brought my 14 year old daughter and she loved it!
Cast was very funny from their quick wit to the singing portions. Small dance parts and the sound bites were fun. They changed costumes in a timely fashion and kept the audience watching for the next change.
Clever staging, but far too long and convoluted. Should have been at least 30 minutes shorter.
I have not laughed so hard in such a long time. The play was hysterical and kept my interest from beginning to the end. I would definitely see it again.
Peter and the Starcatcher was wonderful! My sister and I took our parents to see the show and we all loved it. I would go to see it again and again.
Our family LOVED this musical! The acting was fantastic & the show was SO funny!
