Dead on Arrival, but at least they arrived well

by TheBMG on 4/14/13Uptown Theatre Napa - Napa

So this was the first concert I have ever been to in my twenty-six years. There was a lot of excitement behind that until we heard Del had come down with a fever and could not perform. For our troubles, the audience received a free mix tape and the promise of a free show when Del returns next month. Serendipity Project, Buku and Gift of Gab all rocked the stage extra hard to make up for it. The turnout was small and only like half the crowd was putting any energy into it, so I'm more disappointed in Napa than the show. Still, it's hard to enjoy a concert when the guy you bought the tickets for didn't show.

    Perfect day for my birthday

by BillCosby on 6/10/11Magic Stick - Detroit

The weather was warm, and the music was funky. It wasn't too crowded at the venue, and my friends and I had a great time. The Garden Bowl / Magic Stick is a pretty cool place to see a show in the summer time. Liquor prices are nothing to brag about. Overall it was an amazing experience.

    Expected Better

    by BeDazzled2525 on 6/10/11Magic Stick - Detroit

Well, I really didn't have any expectations for this concert just for the simple fact that I've never listened to his music. My boyfriend was the big fan wanting to go. So, I was up for whatever. However, it was a huge disappointment. Doors were at 8, opening act didn't start till almost 10 pm, which is just a tad bit too long of a drag time in my opinion. First opening act was awful, second was decent. Del finally came on at midnight, and only played for about 35-40 minutes, which again is a bit ridiculous. I've never been to a concert where someone played for so little time. Honestly, both of the opening acts played for longer. He only sang one song from Deltron, and his energy level was extremely languid. He pretty much acted like he couldn't wait to get the heck off stage the entire time. Then he sang his last song, barely said anything, left the stage, and didn't encore at all, despite everyone cheering him on and asking for one. After such a short set, I not only would have expected an encore, but really feel owed it. Overall, ery disappointed.
