Davíd Garza Tickets

Very intimate show, small venue, great place for acts like Garza. Great backup band, and the addition of a musical iPhone app was a welcome addition (filling the aesthetic void left by Casio beats). Garza took requests from the audience and engaged with the crowd between songs, creating a very friendly atmosphere. The performance was fantastic, with great energy and a selection of songs from across his catalog. Well worth the ticket price. Unfortunately, the venue appeared to put certain constraints on the show that diminished my overall enjoyment. Apparently there was no time for a proper sound check, as Garza continually called back to the sound board for changes to the monitor mix. Not a big deal in between songs, but my memories of "Disco Ball World" didn't used to include lyrics about needing more base in the drum monitor. Also, the entire show came in at around only 90 minutes as the venue had to clear us out for the next show.
