this was billed as a "reunion tour", but it was nothing of the sort. It's one member still milking the Darkbuster name. If you're not a diehard fan, then the show is fine for you. If you've followed them for a while, then you know this band isn't the real deal.
8/4 – Darkbuster @ Sinclair Cambridge – Front man Lenny Lashley is like a hometown version of Neil Young. He has a successful band as youngster (they won the Rock & Roll Rumble way back when), then re-appears as a solo act, later joins a band where his talents are subsumed into the whole (Street Dogs) and now that the time is right, re-unites the original band for their first album and tour in eight years! It was a mix of new and old songs, many of the new ones nicely augmented by a 3-piece horn section (including Kevin Linnear of the Mighty Mighty Bosstones!) and the old ones igniting a spasm of flailing bodies in the mosh pit. Local heroes Mike McColgan of Street Dogs & Mark Lind of Ducky Boys made guest appearances
Darbuster is the shit! Always were, always will be.
New tight lineup within Darkbuster. Great to see opening band, Slapshot. What made this event so enjoyable was the venue. Good visibility, very nice staff . I'd say it's set up like House of Blues Jr., without their overprices beverages and angry/entitled people that work there
So good to see Lenny & Darkbuster again. sounded great, set was shorter than expected but still great
Awesome show, great venue! This was my first time at the Sinclair. I will definitely be back for more shows.
