This was the first time I attended Chicago Dance for Life. It was great to be introduced to 6 great dance companies. The performances were a bit more low key than expected. The Ron De Jesus Dance performance was the best.

The minute I heard about Dance For Life 2012, I knew I was going to be impressed. I knew this was going to be a wonderful opportunity to see some amazing companies perform and be involved in a benefit with such an important message. My expectations for the evening were pretty high, and I am pleased to say that I would completely blown away by the entire evening. Each dance was unique and mesmerizing. The dancers were strong and exquisite. I loved watching the connections between the dancers. You could see the strength and support they were giving each other. Some dances were more serious and others were very lighthearted. It was an outstanding performance. I was also very impressed by the audience, who were involved in each dance. There was a great energy in the crowd and everyone was extremely supportive and enthusiastic.
It's amazing having so many talented dance companies in Chicago and a thrill to see them all perform in one evening.
This was my first time attending this event and I will DEFINITELY be going again. I definitely wouldn't mind going to this on an annual basis. Great food, people, dancing and overall experience. Highly suggest
This was my second time attending the event. I loved it so much the first time, I brought even more friends this time. All of us agreed that the overall tone was too gray, too grim and serious. There needed to be more joy, even exuberance. It became hard to recall one dance from another after, they were too similar - in the shadows, similar music, morose tone. Even the bungie cord number was a disappointment, it felt overly restrictive- why not have more movement, more fun with (red pants and) that great prop! Overall, a wonderful event, full of incredibly talented dancers and choreography, for an appropriate need, but we ached for some range of emotion, not just sad. Hopefully next year will have more balance!

It was great to see eight dance troops in one production. A wonderful show for a great cause.
