    Heartwarming Christmas with Randy

by Buzzette on 12/13/10Mansion at Fontanel - Whites Creek

Randy is as wonderful as ever, he was perfect to perform Christmas In Dixie. He has the most warm and caring personality which draws his loyal fans to him. I wish him well in remaining cancer-free as I have been for 9 years. The mansion is awesome beyond my expectations. The dinner was delicious, no room for any improvement. This is certainly an event which should be repeated 2011 with Randy Owen again. He cannot be beat.

Randy Owen Was Awesome Once Again

by randysbigfan on 12/8/10Mansion at Fontanel - Whites Creek

Attending Christmas in Dixie was our Christmas present, and I am certain it will be my favorite one. The Mansion at Fontanel is spectacular, and we enjoyed sharing part of Nashville's history while there. The food was delicious, and the show with Randy Owen was wonderful. He sang with such compassion and the stories he told added to the enjoyment of the performance. The staff did an outstanding job of smoothly transporting a large group of attendees, and they were so friendly.

It was a good variety of music and christmas theme decorations. A lot of food and soft drinks. A mix of gospel and country. I enjoyed it all

Randy Owen sang beautifully. Had gone to Ft. Wayne, IN to see Alabama on their farewell tour but it was canceled. Had waited a long time to hear Randy sing again. There were too many guests in attendance. It was suppose to be a small affair from what I gathered. Guests who had tickets to see the canceled Louise Mandrell show were invited to the Fontanel Mansion on the evening we went. Needless to say it was crowded and the folks who had to leave to get on their bus interupted Randy's show a couple of times to say their bus was leaving. We drove 6 hours for a nice evening and the extra people took the seating away from us to were we had to stand for the performance. If we had known the extra people would be there, we would have picked a different date.

    A Disorganized Mess

by Anonymous on 11/22/10Fontanel Mansion - Nashville

The entire evening was so chaotic that no one ever even checked our tickets. The shuttles had no schedule and kept having to back up and turn around to get out of each others way. When we arrived, there were no instructions about where to go to eat, where to sit, when the show would start, etc. The tables were too crowded to walk between and many people did not have a place to sit and eat. The green beans were icy cold, like no one had remembered to heat them before placing them on the buffet. The opening performers were very amateurish. (We did not hear Louise Mandrell sing. She said a brief "hello" while carrying around her Paris Hilton-like dog.) Randy Owen was great during the 30 minutes he spent on stage and Barbara Mandrell's daughter was a very gracious, friendly hostess, but it was overall not worth the money we spent.

    Christmas in Dixie was unique

by whucky on 11/22/10Mansion at Fontanel - Whites Creek

In Music City you get so many choices that you can get bored. My husband really enjoyed the different format. He had a very good time and that says a lot. I also thought the whole experience was fun and pleasant. The food was good, but try to keep it hot as some of the later arrivals had cold food. The only thing that I saw was that the headliner, Randy, needed to be given more time to perform. He was the reason most folks came. It seemed to feel that he was being forced to only sing for a few minutes. Due to the price we paid it was a stretch for the value. The staff I encountered from Fontanelle which includes several different areas of employment could not of been nicer. Keep them happy. They are why we will return and bring others with us.

    Randy Owens was great but....

by Anonymous on 11/22/10Mansion at Fontanel - Whites Creek

The Mansion at Fontanel was too crowded for the space. Tour groups were diverted from Opryland and caused "standing room only". The billing makes the experience seem more intimate than it was. There wasn't assigned seating, despite what the tickets indicated.

    Christmas in Dixie - FANTASTIC!!!!!

by lacendra on 11/21/10Mansion at Fontanel - Whites Creek

We had such an amazing time at Christmas in Dixie. The atmosphere was so warm and inviting. The mansion was incredible. The food was delicious and plentiful!! All of the music groups were good but the high-light of the evening was sitting not 2 feet away from Randy owen. He performed several songs and we were even able to talk to him after the show. This was a memory we will cherish forever. Randy Owen and Alabama have been an important part of our lives for many years and attending this event in Nashville was absolutely incredible. We will be back next year to do this again That is for certain!!
